You asked us a lot of questions and now I'm going to try to answer as many as I possibly can in 45 seconds, so ready the timer, please, let's do this.

Dogs are not colorblind, although we've sometimes been told they are; it takes 8 minutes, 20 seconds for light to travel to Earth from the Sun, which is well, lightning fast!  It was a New Orleans dentist, Levi Spear Parmly, who invented dental floss back in 1815.

We could be alone in the universe but this is a question that can't be answered today, and, the day is coming soon when you could have a robot butler.  In addition, the tallest person ever known was Robert Wadlow, who in 1940 measured 8 feet 11.1 inches, and 12 people have walked on the moon.

On the question of how did life begin, I will pass, and I'm also going to pass on what makes us human, but here are some more answers: A coin that falls from the Empire State Building could not kill you; it's pretty much true that no two snowflakes are alike; the first woman to win a Nobel Prize was Marie Curie, and she won two, in 1903 and 1911; my favorite science figure of all time is Carl Sagan.  And finally, I like long walks on the beach...Wait, what?

And that ends our lighting round, on a very weird note, but for more insightful videos like this, check us out every day at Smithsonian.com.

I takes so long for sunlight to reach the Earth because the sun is so far away and the light energy has to travel through space to reach Earth's surface. It takes approximately eight minutes and twenty seconds for light from the sun to reach the Earth's surface. My opinion is that astronomy is a very interesting topic because there is so much to learn because so much has not been discovered yet.

It takes so long for the sun's light to travel to reach Earth because the sun is rather far away, it needs to travel at least 94.5 million miles, the speed of light is fast but it can't travel 94.5 miles in a second.

I found this article interesting because it answered a lot of questions I did not know the answer to.

It takes so long for the sun's light to reach earth because light has to travel to the earth from the sun, and from the distance of the sun to earth, light takes 8 min and 20 seconds (paragraph 2) which is as fast as light travels from the sun to the earth.
I thought this article was very interesting because the paragraphs just stated some random facts which got me confused a little bit and also because I thought dogs were colorblind.

The distance from our planet and the closest star does not seem too far but it is. Even though light travel at 180.000 miles per second it still takes a long time to reach us.

It takes so long for the sun's light to reach Earth because of the distance the light has to travel to reach Earth. At the beginning of the article, it is said that,"it takes 8 minutes, 20 seconds for light to travel to Earth from the Sun, which is well, lightning fast" (paragraph 2). Lightning travels as one of the quickest speeds in the universe, so over eight minutes to reach Earth. Sunlight takes a long time to reach Earth due to the distance it has to travel from the Sun to Earth.

I found this article surprising because I didn't know that anyone would know these random trivia facts off of the top-of-their-head.

It takes so long for the sun's light to reach the earth because the sun is very far away. The sun is approximately 92.96 million miles away, by knowing this and knowing the fact that light travels at a speed of about 186,000 miles per second, when you think about it 8 minutes and 20 seconds is not that long for light traveling so fast. In paragraph 2, it states that," it takes 8 minutes, 20 seconds for light to travel to Earth from the Sun." This is extremely fast for something almost a hundred million miles away, which is unimaginable for everyone. Therefore, it takes so long for the sun's light to reach earth because the sun is very far away. This article surprised me because I did not know the tallest person on earth was almost 9 feet tall.

It takes so long for the sun's light to reach earth because it is very far away from the sun. It says in the article that it takes eight minutes and twenty seconds for sunlight to reach earth. That means that since light goes very fast and it takes that long for sunlight to reach earth, the sun must be very far away from earth. I liked this article because it answered a lot of questions. I did not know that dogs weren't colorblind until now.

Sunlight doesn't reach Earth until 8 minutes 20 seconds later because the sunlight has to travel 91,402,000 miles and speed of light can only reach 186,282 miles per second.

i found this interesting because i am very fascinated by the speed of sound and the speed of light.

Even though we can see sunlight, it takes about eight minutes and twenty seconds for sunlight to reach earth. The light takes this long because the distance between earth and the sun is approximately ninety-three million miles apart. Although the light can lap the earth in about one second, the earth is much smaller than the distance between the sun and the earth. Therefore, making the light reach the earth in eight minutes and twenty seconds. found this article interesting because I learned many different things, such as that dogs actually are not color blind and that twelve people have walked on the moon. This article was surprising because I did not know that the tallest person measured eight feet and eleven inches (which is over three feet taller then me).

The sun is so far away from earth that it takes 8 mins and 20 seconds to get here. So if the sun exploded people would not know for 8 minutes and 20 seconds.
