Three Norwegian lawmakers have nominated Greta Thunberg for the Nobel Peace Prize. She is a Swedish teenager. She is an activist. She has become a well-known voice in campaigns against climate change.

Freddy Andre Oevstegaard and two other members of the Socialist Left Party to make a statement. They said they believe "the massive movement Greta has set in motion is a very important peace contribution."

Thunberg is 16. She had encouraged students to skip school to join protests. The protests demanded faster action on climate change. It is a movement that has spread beyond Sweden. It spread to other European nations.

Oevstegaard said "climate threats are perhaps one of the most important contributions to war and conflict." That's what he told the VG newspaper.

Any national lawmaker can nominate somebody for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee doesn't publicly comment on nominations. For 2019, they had to be submitted by Feb. 1.

I did teenage climate activist nominated for Nobel Peace Prize.
I liked this because one, it was a short article, and two we were studying Greta Thunberg in Ecology. This was about how Greta Thunberg (age 16) won the Nobel Peace Prize. She is trying and succeeding to stop global warming and climate change.

This article was about a girl who got nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. She got nominated because she is making other people care about the environment by skipping school to protest against hurting the environment. I think she is a good role model and she is very inspirational. I really appreciate her.

They can be inspired by her, because they could follow their dreams, passions, and etc. If I were her I would be really inspired.

this girl has got the noble peace prize because she skipped school. I now it may sound crazy but it is true. she is concerned about climate change. climate change is lets say you are on the computer, iPhone, whatever when you are in the shower or electronic it makes smoke and it's bad for the Earth. That is basically what climate change is. Thank you for listening.

I disagree with the part you said about she skipped school, I don't think it's cool because one it is illegal to skip school just to work on something and two if she stayed in school she might have made it better

Students should get out and go for what they believe in. We have a voice too, not just the adults. Yes, the adults can do way more then the children, but if the kids got out and protest for what they believe in. Maybe, they can end up like this teen, and be heard.
