Getting a ticket from police in one Massachusetts town isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Concord's police department says it plans to issue up to 200 "citations." They are for good behavior. That could include such things as wearing a bicycle helmet. It might include wearing a seat belt, yielding to pedestrians at a crosswalk or looking both ways before crossing a street.

Police Chief Joseph O'Connor says it's a light-hearted way to connect positively with the community.

Instead of a fine or a court appearance, these citations can be redeemed for two scoops of ice cream at Reasons to be Cheerful. It's a local dessert cafe. The owner of the restaurant is Wade Rubinstein. He agreed to donate the ice cream.

Some other good behavior that police could use to reward citizens with would be helping someone in need, saving Someone's life, or performing an act of a hero these would be better to reward for because they are not just average things that everybody does such as putting on a seatbelt.

Other good behaviors that police can reward you are completely stopping at a stop sign, taking turns on four way intersections, and respecting bikers on the road.My opinion about this article is that I think that it is good that cops are handing out rewards because some people will start looking at cops as a really good thing instead of how some people see them now as a bad thing. Also the rewards should be something better then ice cream, it will motivate people more to do the right thing.

Other good behavior that police could reward would be for walking to school instead of driving and always saying thank you to a crossing guard. I liked this article and I thought it was interesting. I think we should do the same thing in Hermosa Beach because it will influence people to do good.

Other good behavior that a police could reward would be, helping an elderly, using your manors and letting someone cut you and go before you. I think this article is very interesting because usually the officer gives out tickets for bad behavior and I've never seen/heard of an officer giving a ticket for good behavior.

Other good behavior police could reward might be things like waiting for others to go when driving instead of cutting them off and following the speed limit. I found this article interesting because if people are rewarded good things for obeying the law, it will make them more inclined to do so.

Some other examples of good behavior that police officers could reward is when someone helps another person cross the street or one someone picks up trash and throws it away and when someone is just being a good citizen

When I was pulled over once for not completely stopping at a stop sign. The cop turned his lights on and my heart sank to the ground because I was also so close to driving after nine also. It would have been great if he gave me a free scoop of ice cream for good driving but he could me in a bad moment. I did get out of it with only a warning so that is a close call with the police and you got to love our justice system.

I think this is really cool. It would influence people to do right instead of wrong. It's a good treat for people who always follow the rules. I wish they would do something like that around here.

Other good behavior the police could reward is staying within the speed limit, waiting at a crosswalk and cars using there turn signals.
