Getting a ticket from police in one Massachusetts town isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Concord's police department says it plans to issue up to 200 "citations." They are for good behavior. That could include such things as wearing a bicycle helmet. It might include wearing a seat belt, yielding to pedestrians at a crosswalk or looking both ways before crossing a street.

Police Chief Joseph O'Connor says it's a light-hearted way to connect positively with the community.

Instead of a fine or a court appearance, these citations can be redeemed for two scoops of ice cream at Reasons to be Cheerful. It's a local dessert cafe. The owner of the restaurant is Wade Rubinstein. He agreed to donate the ice cream.

The police could reward driving at the speed limit as many people don't pay attention to the speed limit and it is a safety requirement. I think this article is kind of stupid because thos laws are already supposed to be followed and the police are supposed to be enforcing not rewarding, plus getting ice cream may not be the best reward because their are people who are lactose and tolerant.

That is right you do the good thing you get rewarded for it. I think that it is a good idea to that because people should do the good stuff. The reward for icecream was a bad idea because some people don't like icecream. Also police should reward people for who are nice

WOW! I never knew that police can reward people. I only thought that they only catch criminals or just give speed tickets or stuff like that. But now that I have read this article I now know that they do. I wish I can get a award. Maybe next time I will do the stuff that the article says and I will maybe get a reward. If I do I can't wait to see what it is.

Other good behavior could be stopping on a red light. I chose this article because it seemed interesting to me that the police were giving tickets for something good.

This article is important because a lot of people get upset with police giving tickets for little things. Now in Massechusets you can get a ticket for doing good in the community, and will get a price of two ice cream scoops

I think some other good thing people should get rewarded for could be helping old people cross the street, carpooling to save the environment, recycling, giving food to the homeless, and giving directions to tourists. All of these thing fall under the same category as "wearing a bike helmet, wearing a seat belt, looking both ways, and yielding to pedestrians." I think this is a good idea that the police have. It will cause more people to do good things.

Some good behaviors police may reward are wearing a bicycle helmet, wearing a seatbelt, yielding to pedestrians, etc. I found this article interesting because i think its cool that the whole community is getting together to support good behavior.

Police could also reward people cleaning there community or people being nice. They already reward wearing a bike helmet and yielding for a pedestrian.

The police can reward behavior such as it says on paragraph two, wearing a bicycle helmet, wearing a seat belt, and looking both ways before crossing. Some other good behavior that could be rewarded might be picking up a piece of trash, or helping someone older that you that needs help.

I found this article very interesting. I chose to read this article because the title was very unusual and I wanted to know more about this. After reading this, I thought we should do this in our neighborhood, because many kids are starving after school and they could stop by for an after school snack if we were to do this. The article gave me new ideas to make our neighborhood better and more friendly.
