Trix is back to its old tricks. The colorful cereal will once again be made with artificial dyes and flavors. This comes nearly two years after they were removed from the cereal.

Food maker General Mills said Thursday that Classic Trix will return to supermarket shelves. This will happen in October. But it will also continue to sell the version without artificial colors and flavors.

"We heard from many Trix fans that they missed the bright vibrant colors and the nostalgic taste of the classic Trix cereal." That's according to Mike Siemienas. He is a spokesman for Trix. The move was first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

General Mills switched to using natural sources for color in early 2016. The sources included turmeric. It also included strawberries and radishes.

The company's hope was that the change would appeal to parents who are becoming more concerned about what ingredients are in their food. The cereal lost its famous neon colors. The blue and green pieces had to go because the company couldn't find natural replacements.

General Mills Inc. said it is also working on bringing back another fan favorite. Trix made in shapes of fruits. It stopped selling those a decade ago to return to round pieces.

The Minneapolis-based company said about 90 percent of its cereals are still made with no artificial flavors or colors. Those cereals include Cheerios. It also includes Cocoa Puffs and Golden Grahams.

This article is successful because instead of just stating that Trix will return to it's original colors and flavoring, it gives many details and reasons for why the change is going to occur and why it happened in the first place. It also provides a quote directly from a spokesman for Trix. The article would be important or of interest to a parent of a child who eats cereal, or any person who is a fan of the Trix cereal.

I am not surprised. Not many things in this world will be natural. You can't always get what want with the original way.

People prefer Trix with artificial colors and flavors because kids want the Trix with fruit flavors and color inside there bowl when they poor this cereal. Why did they take out most of the colors anyway?

i think the artificial colors are cool to bring back but that also kinda out weighs the term "Healthy Breakfast" and we cannot forget about how that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
