Jumping donkey leaps to fame

A donkey has leapt to fame in a small Egyptian village by defying her species' well-known stubbornness and jumping hurdles on command.

Ahmed Ayman is a 14-year-old farmer living in the Nile Delta north of Cairo.  He discovered his donkey's natural talent when she leapt over an irrigation canal one day.  So he decided to train her. "We got a very small barrier, and then would make it higher and higher each day," he said.

Now the two perform in front of crowds of gleeful children from their village of al-Arid. Ayman urges the donkey on and she leaps over a homemade wooden barrier in the style of an equestrian. A cousin has posted pictures of the feat online. The images have been spreading through social media.

Donkeys are a fixture of daily life in rural Egypt. They are used for transportation or to haul goods, and can often be seen in Cairo and other major cities. But it's rare to see a donkey gallop, much less go airborne.

"I have never seen a jumping donkey before. We even tried it with another donkey and when it reached the barrier, it stopped," said Abdel-Moneim Sayed, Ayman's uncle. "A donkey is very stubborn. If he knows that he cannot pass a barrier, he will not even try, no matter what you do."

Ayman dreams of one day jumping horses. But he says he would never part with his donkey, even for a huge sum of money, "because she can jump, and I love her."

The fact the donkey is such a popular attraction is because it's really unusual to see a leaping donkey and a 14 yr old boy putting on an amazing show, with a donkey that can jump 3 to 4 ft in the air , that's impressive I know I would go see that especially in a small village where nothing ever happens and where there's no money you could count me in to see that

I can't believe that a donkey actually jumped. Most donkeys are just stubborn and don't want to do any thing at all. But this donkey is a risk taker and a smart donkey and he believes that he can do it. So maybe one day I will be able to see an actual donkey and an actual donkey that can jump that high as in the article.

CRITICAL THINKING QUESTION: What makes this donkey such a popular attraction?

ANSWER: It is because normally donkeys are stubborn and don't want to do anything. All they do it transportation and stuff like that. But this donkey is the first of its kind to ever jump and also jump very high like a horse. So that is my it makes such a popular attraction.

The jumping donkey might have been able to be leaping to fame because people had been seeing the talent about the donkey that can be able to jump than other kinds of donkeys in the rural Egypt. The people might have been amazed about the donkey that can be able to things whenever their owner had told them to be doing which people had been amazed by the talent that the donkey have. The farmer might have been able to find out about the donkey's talent because the farmer that seen that the donkey can be able to be jumping from the ground rather than any other donkeys. People might have been able to be finding out about the donkey's talent because people had been finding that the donkey has a behavior of stubborn which it could listen to what the owners says.

The donkey is a huge attraction because of its natural ability and odd choice. The donkey species is not known for jumping, but the people seem to love it.

I like this story because I never that a donkey could ever jump over something like barrier. The thing that makes this donkey such a popular attraction is that the donkey jumped over a barrier. None of the other donkeys can jump except this one. The other donkeys are being stubborn when you try to get them to jump. This donkey is the only one out of all donkeys that jumped.

Donkeys are known to be very stubborn and don't jump. (Sorta sounds like me.) There's always an oddball that stands out and there's nothing wrong with that; in this case, pretty amazing.
