You asked us, does acupuncture work? At about 2,500 years old, acupuncture is not, in fact, a form of torture. It's actually one of the world's oldest medical practices.

Here's how it works. According to traditional Chinese medicine.

Energy flows through our bodies along paths called meridians. When that energy gets blocked, we get sick. Acupuncture helps get rid of anything stopping the flow of energy. So the body can heal.

It gained credibility in the U.S. in the '80s and '90s. That's when research started to suggest acupuncture could be an effective treatment for some illnesses, especially chronic pain.

From a Western medical perspective, the mechanism at work isn't totally understood, but it's thought that acupuncture might stimulate the central nervous system. That is made up of our brain and our spinal cord. Acupuncture can cause them to release chemicals that dull pain and boost the immune system.

So the next time you find yourself in pain or sick, you might consider giving acupuncture a shot.

Just do me a favor and don't try this at home.

I think you shoudn't trie to do it at home because anthing can happen. Like you can put a needle in a vane then you will bleed. Or if you go through your bone. Also if you fall with one in you it might brake then you can't get it out. Finally a little kid can get to it and hurt them selfs or someone else.

You definitely shouldn't try acupuncture at home because you could seriously hurt yourself. Acupuncture is a procedure done with needles. If you are not careful you could push one in a little too far. Or you could put a needle in the wrong place. Plus if you use a needle that has not been properly sanitized you can get very sick.

At about 2500 years old, acupuncture is one of the world's oldest medical practices. How does it work? When our energy flowing through meridians gets blocked, we get sick. Acupuncture helps to get rid of the blocked energy, and allows the body to heal. We aren't sure how it exactly works, but scientist think it has something to do with the central nervous system.

Acupuncture sounds kind of painful because it involves needles and the word 'puncture'. Although it is widely popular and a great way to fix chronic pain, I don't think I will be trying it any time soon!

This article is about whether or not acupuncture works. This medical practice is a whopping 2,500 years old. The old explanation was that when our "energy lines" got blocked, then the needles moved the things blocking it out of the way. In reality, we don't really know why it works, but there are theories. The main one is that it stimulates the central nervous system, which then releases chemicals that dull pain and boots the immune system. Wow! This is a very interesting article. I wouldn't want to get acupuncture though because I don't like needles!

Acupuncture is one of the worlds oldest medical practices. Acupuncture helps a human stay healthy by stopping anything that may be blocking the energy that flows through the body. People use acupuncture for when they are sick so they can get the energy flowing properly throughout them. I think this article was interesting because I never really knew what acupuncture was and it was interesting to learn about.

Acupuncture is actually a form of medicine and not a method of torture. Acupuncture was invented in China about 2,500 years ago. It is used to cure illnesses and help with pain. It became popular in the U.S. in the eighty's and ninety''s. According to the ancient Chinese energy flows through our bodies along paths called meridians, if energy is blocked we get sick. Acupuncture works by making the energy flow again , freeing you of the illness. According to western medicine it stimulates the central nervous system and then releases chemicals that dull pain help the immune system.

I do not think I could do acupuncture because having that many needles in me would be scary. I am not afraid of needles but having all of them in me would be scary. I think it does work and is a good way to help you if you are sick.

This article is about acupuncture. Though I am not a fan of acupuncture, I think it works. it is told to work by unblocking passageways called meridians, which are the passageways of energy going around your body. It is said that the energy helps you heal and that is why it works, but scientist think it is because it causes chemicals to be released from the central nervous system that dulls pain and boost your immune system.

I think that acupuncture is a good thing but I would never try it because I've watched final destination.
