Animal control officer ready for toy tiger teasing

An animal control worker in Michigan was convinced he was looking at a young tiger lying in a driveway, so he approached with care. He grabbed a pole and a shield and called police.

Turns out, it was a stuffed animal.

The Grand Rapids Press reports that Kent County Animal Control received a call about a tiger in the driveway. It was seen at a vacant Grand Rapids home.

Supervisor Joe Dainelis responded to the call. When he spotted the animal, he grabbed his safety gear. Neighbors also thought the life-sized, furry toy was real.

Meanwhile, Dainelis' co-worker, Rachel Jensen, approached from another direction. She realized there was nothing ferocious about the toy feline.

Dainelis says he expects to be teased for a few days.

Critical thinking challenge: What indicates that Joe Dainelis wasn't crazy to think the toy tiger was real?

That is surprising that a lot of people would be confused between a real tiger and a stuffed animal. I would think it would be really easy to tell the difference because stuffed animals don't move.

Joe Dainelis, an Animal Control officer in Michigan, called for back up because he thought he saw a tiger at the Vacant Grand Rapids home. It turned out to be a stuffed animal. Dainelis says he expects to be harassed for a few days.
I think this story is humorous, but at the same time a little alarming. The fact that a trained official could not tell the difference between a stuffed animal and a real animal is a little scary. What if the tiger had been real and he thought it was a stuffed animal?

I think that it might be kind of funny for people in the neighbor to get fooled by a stuffed tiger and they thought that it was real, but they didn't think that it is really a stuffed animal, but I think that it might be funny if somebody in the neighbor to fool everyone. Well if somebody in the neighbor fooled everyone that there is a real tiger in the driveway, I think that they didn't know that they are getting teased.

This article is about how an animal control worker found a baby tiger in someones driveway. Everyone thought it was real. It was only a couple days old so it wasn't too big. I found this article interesting because its always good to save and protect animals and care for them.

An animal control worker in Michigan was called about a tiger in some ones driveway. Joe Daniels went to investigate, and when he spotted the animal grabbed his safety gear. Daniel's co worker saw it from a different direction and realized it was just a stuffed animal. Daniels expects to be teased about this for a while.
You must be really silly to think that a stuffed toy was an actual animal. You would think that the fact that the animal wasn't moving would give it away.

The article is about a delusional animal control officer who believed that a stuffed tiger in a parking lot was a legitimate bengal tiger. The worker saw the tiger and called in for backup, when they noticed that the tiger was fake they left. The man says that he has braced for all of the teasing he will receive for this.

I think even though it was fake, it was good that they took it seriously. As some people say, it's better to be safe than sorry. If they would have gone up to it thinking it was fake and not bringing anything to protect themselves, and it turned out to be real, this story would have ended very differently.
