Mrs. Obama: Its OK to splurge A youngster gets a hug from first lady Michelle Obama after she read to a group of children during the annual White House Easter Egg Roll
Mrs. Obama: Its OK to splurge

Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries.

"How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn't live without a little chocolate, a little French fries."

The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them.

"I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

The first lady said she tries to teach her two daughters balance with healthy meals at home, to offset any ice cream or birthday cake they have while out.

Mrs. Obama said her favorite physical activity is tennis, which she tries to do at least once a week. She said her daughter Malia participates in track and tennis too, while Sasha enjoys basketball and dance.

She urged the young scribes who ranged in age from 6 years old to 13 years old to eat balanced meals, drink water and keep moving.

"The more water you drink, the less room you'll have for the junk," Mrs. Obama said.

The children reporters and their parents were part of the 30,000 people visiting the White House for the annual egg roll event.

You can eat french fries and still be healthy if you remain active afterwards. You can probably burn the calories from those fench fries off. Then continue eating healthy afterwards if you would like.

How you can eat fries and still be healthy is to go exercise after eating them so it wont go to your body and become fat. I think that with the first lady Michelle Obama is doing is spectacular because she is having young kids live a healthy and longer life full of good choices. I think that with her help with all of this, that with young kids, they wont become obese and have diabetes. If she wasnt encouraging them to be healthy and live a healthy lifestyle is that most kids would become obese and have a chance of diabetes because it is on the rise through these years due to fast food and junk food. So with Michelle and what shes doing to help change young people and their lifestyles is really important and that she should keep up the hard work.

I hope she knows that know body cares. Since when can she tell people what is "OK" and what not to eat. She is such a hypocrite she tells you that it "OK" and then she says don't eat these. I just stopped listening to her and I think that a lot of other people did to.

The first lady, Michelle Obama, talked to kids during the annual egg roll event about eating right. She said that it is ok to splurge a little bit if you balance it out with eating right and healthy foods. She also said that staying active and working out once a day can also keep you staying healthy. Michelle Obama is also very obviously a very healthy person and like to see the whole entire country stay healthy. She said to the kids "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?", "You couldn't live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." I completely agree with eating right and staying healthy because it make you feel better about yourself and you will get more respect. I also agree with the quote that she stated by saying that without a little chocolate you would never be able to appreciate vegetables which is true.

If you eat healthy most of the time eating bad wont really hurt you. Plus if you're eating really good you always deserve to treat yourself. Which means some french fries or a hamburger or some candy will not hurt you. If you're eating good most of the time, just be sure to drink a lot of water that is what really helps and eat a lot of fruit. In my opinion yes you can eat good and still splurge.

This article is about how Mrs. Obama says that it is okay to splurge sometimes with a unhealthy snack if you have been healthy for a long time. She said that we wouldn't appreciate vegetables if we never had a sweet or unhealthy snack. She said that she will splurge when possible because she does her hardest to exercise once a day for the entire week. She was interviewed by children reporters the annual Easter Egg Roll Event. She said that "The less water you drink, the less room you'll have for junk." I think that she has some valid points that you can splurge if you want to. But i also think that you shouldn't splurge on sweets just because you did a little exercise and say you deserve it.

If you can eat fries and still be healthy is a good thing. Just because you eat a junk food doesn't mean you're not healthy. You can have fries it depends if you excurse and eat a balance diet. And drinking a lot of water can help you in so many ways.

You can still eat fries and be healthy. You don't need to be eating them everyday but once in a while is fine if you want to stay healthy. After you eat fries just go run off them carbs. if you stay fit and work out for a while and you eat fries once in a while it wont hurt you.
