A subway station is open again. It is in New York City. It is the the first time it has been open. This is since it was destroyed. It was destroyed in the World Trade Center attack. That was 17 years ago.

People cheered. They cheered when the first train rolled into the new WTC Cortlandt station. This happened at noon. This was last Saturday.

The old Cortlandt Street station was on the subway system's No. 1 line. It was buried. It was under the rubble of the twin towers. That was on Sept. 11, 2001. Construction of the new station was delayed. It didn’t start until the rebuilding of the surrounding towers was well under way.

The new station cost $181 million. It features a mosaic. It uses words from the Declaration of Independence.

It will show people that we, Americans, don't give up. You might knock us down or hit us hard but we find a way to get back up. This will resemble strength.

I think the reopening was very beneficial because it allows more access to the city. The subway may have slowed people's routes down.

It will be most beneficial because since it closed when the attacks happen and now that it is opened back up. It's something special because 9/11 was so tragic but now that things are opening up that it a good thing.

It will contribute to the convenience of public transportation in New York. It's more environmentally friendly than the bus system.

The biggest way is most people don't have cars, or they don't want to drive in the traffic so they take the subway. Some people that are homeless can take shelter in the subway or the area outside the subway. There are many other ways that the opening of the subway is beneficial, but those are the biggest ways it is beneficial.

The Event will be heartwarming for some people because it reminds them of the day this event happened and that they are able to use this subway once again in their eyes they have a dream it came true after so many years.

I think that reopening this station shows that we are improving after the 9/11 attack. It shows that we can rebuild and upgrade things after an attack like 9/11.

People will be able to get to places easier and faster than before. People will also be able to maybe learn a bit on why the subway was destroyed in the first place.

I think the subway reopening is beneficial because it in some way is a reminder on how tragic 9/11 was. This subway reopening is showing the power of the US and we can make it through whatever gets thrown at us. Nothing can keep us down.
