Is it true that elephants can't jump?
Lexile

You asked us a question. Is it true that elephants can't jump?

Yes, it's true. Adult elephants just aren't built to jump. Elephants often weigh 16,000 or more pounds. They're too heavy to make the leap.

Not only do they not jump, elephants never get all four feet off the ground at once. That is even true when they are charging at full speed.

So, technically, I guess, elephants don't actually run. They power walk.

And why should they jump? The great leapers of the animal kingdom often evolved that skill as a way of avoiding predators. But nothing in an elephant's environment, at least in their recent evolutionary past, required them to hop around.

So, despite what you may have heard, believe me when I say, elephants are earthbound.

Thay don't need to jump because thay ar to heve and thay weigh 16,000 pounds. and also ther is no rsen to jump in thar environments. So thar is no reason for an elephant to jump.

I think that they never had to learn how to hop because they weight 1600 or more. There also to heavy to make the leap not only do they not jump they ever get of there four feet off the ground at once. That is even true when they are charging at full speed. They don't actually run they power walk.

They don't need to hop because. They could speed walk to scare the prididors then they run away because. It is scared to get smush by. A 16.000 pound elaphant. That's why they don't need to hop.

I think it's because they weight 16,000 or more pounds and when you are that big sometimes you can't jump good. Also elephants were not ment to be jumping or running. Also elephants don't run they power walk. If I was that big I wouldn't be able to jump. That's what I think.

They never learn how to jump because they never get all four feet on the ground at once. The great lepers of the kingdom often envelope that skill as a way of a predetor.

They never learn because they are to Heavy and they are earthbound. Or I think because of the great leapers of the animal kingdom. Also because those animals often jump and elephants don't cause they only power walk. The elephants environment,at least in their recent evolutionary past.
