You asked us to debunk some "facts" about the human body.  Let's science this!
So here are five popular myths that just are not true.
First, we have five senses. Right? Wrong. It depends on how you define a sense. We actually have between 5 and 33 of them.

Beyond the classics, we have a sense of balance. We also have the ability to sense heat and time. Along with those, we also have all kinds of other cool spidey senses.
Second, what about the idea that giving kids sugar makes them bounce-off-the-walls hyperactive?

Nope. The evidence for that cause-and-effect link is surprisingly slim. It's apparently more of a self-fulfilling prophecy than fact.
Myth number three. We only use 10% of our brains. This one drives me insane. It's totally bogus. We use virtually every part of our brain. And most of it is active almost all of the time.
Myth number four. Despite all the heavy lifting going on up there, it's totally false that we lose most of our body heat through our heads.

The amount of heat we lose depends on how much skin surface area is exposed to the cold. So, yes, you'll lose more heat through a bald head than a gloved hand. But the opposite is just as true.
And finally, I know what your mom said. But  you can trust me. I'm a scientist. It doesn't take seven years to digest swallowed gum.

The base element of gum is pretty much indigestible. But it'll still pass through our system within a week if not faster.

Um… Okay… That is interesting we do not have 5 senses, because growing up I have always learned that we have 5 senses, but now I know we don’t. Okay, now you ask me (and others) to tell you why people think we lose more heat in our body through our heads. Well, see now I have to tell you a lot. Let me start, people might have thought that we lose most of our heat through our heads because our heads are very warm all the time. But it is only the hair covering it that makes them warm, shown where it says, "The amount of heat we lose depends on how much skin surface is exposed to the cold." That is it for me today. See you guys oh, right, and girls next Monday. Bye! Oh, and before you go I really did find this article very interesting, because I found out somethings I thought were true, but now after I have read this I now know that they are false.(It was hard to believe somethings that I thought were true, but now the aren't so right it was hard to let go of knowledge I knew about when I was way younger)

So we don't lose more heat though our head wow? But let me tell you why people thought we did. So first of all our head is at the top of our body so it might get more sun and I think the that's the reason because in the text it states mostly bald people do let out more heat so they don't have cover on there hair. My second reason is when we run our head/hair sweats the most. So those are the reasons I think people thought we let out most of our heat through our head.

(Sorry Mr.Hodgkinson but my lap top is set to French and I do not know how to switch it to English so I cant use most punctuation)

Hum.... why did people thought we lose most heat from are heads. Well when I was around 7-8 people would tell because I was 7. Well I am going to tell you what I me that you lose more heat from your head more then you do anywhere else on your body and I believed, well its think now that I read it, I think you would lose more heat from your head because were your hair is there might be just a little bite of hols were each string of hair comes out. So my prediction you may have others but hey I think this so bye...........

Cause you need it for your body to pump blood through your whole body.

Because your hair makes holes and it makes you lose heat

People thought we lose heat through our heads because people with bald heads are supposed to lose more heat than people with hair. But that's not true. The amount of heat we lose depends on how much skin is exposed to the cold.

People may have thought we loose most of our heat through are heads because they are believing the doctors and there moms and dads but the truth is that it depends on your skin surface area when it is exposed to the cold. So ,yes you'll lose more heat though a bald spot.

I think people thought that we lose most of our heat through our heads because in winter we cover our heads the most, we wear hats, scarfs and all thos kind of things so if were going to get hot, we're going to sweat right in the head most of the times. Maybe someone made an experiment and wore lots of warm clothes in a hot day and was bald, so he started to sweat in his head and thought that it was his head, not because he's bald. So that's why people thought that we lose most of our heat through our heads.
