World's ugliest dog selected
A rescue dog believed to be a Chihuahua mix has won the World's Ugliest Dog contest.
Princess Abby (Abigail) Francis, a dog with a gray, brown and black coat was shivering in the cool breeze Friday night as her owner, Kathleen Francis, accepted a $1,000 check and applause from the crowd at the 22nd annual contest held at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma.
The four-year-old dog beat a rough-looking slate of candidates for the prize, including Pabst, the teeth-bearing boxer mix who won last year.
Francis says she rescued Princess Abby from her veterinarian about five months ago.
Celebrity vet Karen "Doc" Halligan, one of the contest's three judges, says the dog's oddly curved back and legs and closed up left eye may be due to being inbred.

i don't think that the dog was ugly it was super cute. I think tha the uglyet dog show sould not be a tv show it is not a very pleaseing show. that dog is way to cute to be ugly. PrincessAbby the chihuahua mix should be in the cutest dog show.
people who put that on here are dum and wrong cuase in reality they are probly the ones that are ugly but they got to pick on an animal to make there self feel better people stop bein so rude!!!..... GROW UP
Its not the owners fault the dogs are so ugly from old age what they do what they would eat outside.Or the dog could get a disease.
What a ugly dog but Ive seen worse it had like one ear and like 3 legs and and it had red bombs all over it.
This is one ugly animal! The other dog Pabst looks cute compared to Abigail! But that is kind of cool that the owner won a $1,000. I kind of wish my dog was ugly so i can win a butt load of cash.
World's Ugliest Dog? Is this the latest programs that people pay to see? This contest is a disgrace to the morals that our modern kind has worked so hard to establish. Not only is it disrespectful to the owner, but for a dog to be infamously known for its looks is preposterous, let along being recognized for an unappealing one! In my opinion, these contests should be banned from every country in the world. This topic is not one that should be put at the bottom of a pile in the trash can of a federal courthouse, but should instead be at the top of the pile for the Supreme Court to deal with! Competitive eating and junk food issues should be put aside, and should be replaced with "Beauty contests from animals should be eliminated from every country in the world!"
1. It is a disrespect to the animal and its owner
2. It goes against the morals are society has developed
3. We pay to allow these contests to continue, which is that amplifier of the previous two

It is mean that people have contest on things like that. I think instead of that they should have contest on who is the prettiest dog not the ugliest. I think they should be band from that and just because a dog has lost an eye the dog couldn't be ugly. If i lost an eye would I be ugly?
Well that's ignorant. Why would you have a contest for the World's Ugliest Dog? If you think a dog is ugly, DONT MAKE A CONTEST FOR THE UGLIEST ONE!And besides, that dog isn't even ugly. And besides, it's not his fault he's inbred. I will never understand this...
That is so mean having a contest like that! Those people should be ashamed of themselves. And why would someone enter their dog in such a contest and the people who host it must be cruel!
I think this is wrong to have a contest for the worlds most ugliest dog.I think the chihuahua is really cute and not the most ugliest dog in the world it is one of the prettiest.The owner to take a 1,000 dollar check for your dog to be the ugliest dog in the world.
