World's shortest man seeks Guinness record A man who is only 22 inches tall left his home country of Nepal on Sunday in a quest to be recognized as the world's shortest man.

Khagendra Thapa Magar is traveling to Europe to campaign for the Guinness World Record title. He applied to London-based group for a place in the record book in October, soon after turning 18, but said he has not received any response.

Magar's family initially filed a claim when he was 14, but it was rejected because he was not an adult and there was a chance he might grow.

They say doctors in Nepal have not been able to explain why Magar is so small.

"We are going to Italy to try to record his name in the Guinness Book of World Records," his father, Rup Bahadur Thapa Magar, told reporters in Katmandu. They plan to appear on an Italian television show to talk about his bid for the title.

The current record is held by He Pingping of China, who is 29 inches tall.

if i was short like him you can go thru little stuff and your hands can so little your hands can reach for stuff that are little holes and you can even carry it and it was heavy

I Think the article is interesting because , he could make history around the world . hes also becoming famous . but the thing that I Dont like is that he gets rejected !

I think this is really neat, it'd be cool to meet him and see what his everyday life is like compared to ours. I think he deserves to be in the world records. Something like this should definitely be noticed.

wow he so cute and little. i think that good about his going levaeing his home town for a little bit. being short is is good sometime because you can get away with alot of things but being in short can also be bad because some people will not take u for real and even think your laying and just a kid.

I feel soooo sorry for that man! I would say I can feel his pain, but I honestly can't! I've always been the tallest in my class. How can someone even be 22 inches tall! I wonder if he acts the same as everyone else. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but the shortness is probably some disorder. I hope someone can post an article on that!

Poor man I would hate to be him. That's sad. If I was that small I would be under everything. LOL But seriously that's bad. He's that short. I wonder how tall his parents are? There probably only two feet.

I feel bad for this guy. I heard that he died. This guy is not luck at all. Being short is not fun. I remember when my friend was to short to ride roller coaster.

I cant believe that a man is 22 inches tall and that he is 18 too. That is so amazing. He looks a lot like a 18 month old baby. I am not trying to be mean but he really looks like a 18 month old baby.
