Which is more convenient: Fast food or fresh?

Which is more convenient: Fast food or fresh? First lady Michelle Obama says too many people across the country don't have a grocery store nearby where they can get fresh food.

Mrs. Obama visited the Fairhill Elementary School in North Philadelphia on Friday afternoon as part of her campaign to curb childhood obesity.

She announced plans for more than $400 million in funding to help bring healthy food retailers to underserved communities.

Obama says Philadelphia and the state of Pennsylvania have done great work to increase access to fresh foods and combat obesity.

She says six years ago, the state invested $30 million in fresh food initiatives that helped fund 83 supermarkets statewide.

She also stopped by a North Philadelphia grocery story earlier Friday.

Food and Health: She is right not to many people live by a grocery store. I guess that not to many kids thought Michelle Obama would go to their school. She sure is wasting a lot of money on this campaign. Of course the schools did what she said or else they would of been in a lot of trouble. If 30 million could fund 83 stores. Then imagine how many can open with 400 million. I wonder if the workers where expecting The first lady to visit them.

I'm telling you know stop eating that stupid crap you call convenient from fast food "restaurants" because all you are doing is inviting a heart attack into your body!!!!!!!! If you have finance issues save up and then go or kill yourself with a heart attack from eating to much grease and fat. I don't think I need to go further!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that it is a good idea to eat fresh food. But Michelle ABM is ruining our school lunches because she thinks she can change everybody's way of eating at school. She is making our school lunches horrid. Michelle may think everybody is eating at school, but she is really getting fooled. Not everybody is eating at school and getting the right nutrients.

I think that fresh food is better than fast food any time. Yes I know that fast food is very convenient and you can get it anytime. But if you drive 5 to 10 miles to get the fast food you can also drive 5 to 10 miles to go to a grocery store. Actually when you think about it buying fresh food from the store you can eat on it more than once. You also know what you are putting into your food vice having it sit in it's own juices.

I believe that people should make food fresh instead of eating fast food. If you think about it, at home you are making your French fries by putting them onto your grill or in your oven. Meanwhile, at the fast food restaurants, they are deep frying them in disgusting grease. Although they may taste better, they aren’t as healthy as homemade fries. As Michelle Obama’s point with obesity, every time you eat fast food you are just adding fat to your body. Even though some families don’t have access to a grocery store, or they don’t have the money to go and get food from a market, they can go and buy some seeds so that they can grow fruits and vegetables in their garden. Money may be an issue, and that is why millions of people are eating fast food a lot more now, but that shouldn’t hold you against healthy, fresh food. Although it may not be as convenient, it is a lot healthier than that greasy, yet scrumptious fast food. So, if kids would just warn their parents about how they should be eating healthier, I think that both kids and adults would benefit from it.

Eating more fresh vegetables will certainly make us healthier and reduce obesity. Even so, I would only agree with Mrs. Michelle Obama based on two assumptions. First one is, people don’t buy vegetables today because supermarkets are far away. Question is, the report doesn’t mention how far is too far. Second assumption is, people like to buy vegetables in the supermarket once or twice a week and can afford the price.

You can help by talking to the U.S.A. on TV. So you can keep kids healthy.

Mrs.Obama is doing a great job on promoting healthy eating. I think she is right about fresh food, fresh food is healthier than fast food. We should get more stores to hold natural and healthier foods instead of fat and sugary foods.

I think fresh food is better because it is more healthier for your body. It is good for your brain and eyes. It can also give you more energy in your body.

I think that fresh-food is much better than fast food because some of tgese fast foods meat are mystery meat which is really gross but what mrs.obama is doing is really good!!!!!.
