Van Gogh painting remade of breakfast cereal

Van Gogh painting remade of breakfast cereal High school students in northern Utah have completed a 6,400-square-foot replica of Vincent van Gogh's "Starry Night" out of breakfast cereal.

Sky View High School teacher Doyle Geddes led more than 150 students on the project, which used two tons of colorful Malt-O-Meal spread across the gymnasium floor.

The project took about a week and was completed Saturday. Crews spread a plastic sheet on the floor, then created a grid to outline the painting's famous design. Each space was assigned a color to correspond with the painting and filled with cereal.

Geddes says he wanted to find a way to better connect students with art.

The replica was taken apart later Saturday. The cereal was given to a farm

I think that's amazing what they did. Way creative! Who would think of something that weird. It would be a fun experience to do . Geddes' must have been a great and fun teacher do something as astonishing as that!

I think that is awesome what they did. The people made the painting out of cereal and that's awesome. Geddes {art teacher} wanted a better way to connect with his students. Geddes had led more than 150 students and I think it was hard getting that many kids. Finally the students made a 6,400 square foot replica of starry night.

I love art! It's awesome. I think that that was a great project. I bet it was fun. It was a really huge project. I wish I could have worked on that project.

This story is about high school students that did a famous project. They did this project in a gymnasium. Do you that you that you would do it?

Now that is what I call art! It should have taken longer then a week if you ask me. I wonder if they would name it "Starry Cereal"!

My Uncle use to live in Utah. And I think I went to that place. It was fun. The pic looks just like the one that Van Gogh made.

That is really cool! That would be so fun to make or make a different famous painting out of something else. I think it would be cool to make The Scream like that. I love art and if my school did something like that I would definantly join in and help. In fact, if I had to sign up for it, I'm sure I'd be the first one on the sign-up sheet.

That sounds boring. I pity those kids who had to work on that project. I am also angry at whoever made them take it down. If people waste their time on a project of that caliber, don't destroy their work.

I thought this article was interesting because Vincent Van Gogh was one of the most influential artists of the 19 century. This interesting idea that a High school in Utah had was to make a replica of one of Vincent Van Gogh's most famous works of Art, "Starry Night". This high schools idea was to make a replica out of cereal. I think it is intriguing that they chose to make this out of cereal and not another material. I have always been fascinated with "Starry Night" because when my mom was a child she went to the asylum in France where he painted the "Starry Night". My mom did not know about Van Gogh then since she was a child.

I think this is a really good idea for students to learn. I wish my school could do something like that. I believe that schools should really look more into art and music. Art like clay can take away stress and help a student relax say before a big test. I take art very seriously and the only thing i don't like about art is that we are assigned what to do, or make, it takes the fun out of it.
