Two pandas born in Spanish zoo

Two pandas born in Spanish zoo Two newborn pandas are the latest additions to the Madrid Zoo.

They are the first pandas born in the Madrid Zoo since it unveiled one named Chu-Lin in 1982 — the first panda born in captivity in Europe. That one became wildly popular and a symbol of the Spanish capital.

Spain's National Research Council said there are only an estimated 1,600 pandas left living in the wild in China, their numbers depleted by destruction of their habitat.

The Madrid Zoo has four of the endangered animals: the newborns and their parents, mother Hua Zui Ba and father Bing Xing.

That couple was a goodwill gift from the Chinese government to King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia during a visit to China in 2007.

The new babies' mother, whose name means Flowery Mouth, licked them clean upon birth and the cubs are taking turns being nursed. The one waiting in line is kept in an incubator.

As per panda custom, the father remains aloof and stays away from the babies. This is partly in response to the mother being very protective and keeping her tiny babies from being stepped on or crushed by a dad that can weigh as much as 150 kilograms (330 lbs), Fernandez said.

"The father shows no interest whatsoever," she said. Bing Xing means Star of Ice.

How interesting that two pandas were born in Madrid. I did not know they could live there. I would love to see a Giant Panda someday. That is my favorite type of panda. The zookeepers must be so happy at that zoo. I hope those pandas live for about 20 years so I can get a chance to see them. How strange that the father does not want to be around the babies. I would be so proud!

Aw how cute the little one looks! And their twins not that's even cuter than cute!I hope they'll be alright and be raised with care! And that they're being fed really well.

I have seen plenty of panda stories but is the best one yet. They are very cute and small. Since babies are very fragile they need to be treated with a lot of care. i really want it because pandas are small when babies but mighty when they grow up. When they grow up they are adorable like the babies but they still have a soft fur pelt and tender giving love.Treated with enough care they can grow up an survive in the world. Even better it can grow up and have babies of its own. I will find pandas if they are
sick, injured, living , or dead they will always have a place in my heart.

I would be pretty scared to hold that Little Harry new born panda that I can squeeze and kill it in one squeeze and pop it's head

They are just adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They look so precious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They must be so happy to have a mom to protect them like that. Why does the dad not even care.

Pandas are near extinction. Thank god for this miracle. just wait until they're fully grown. these little couples will make history. Oh. they are just adorable aren't they.

Omg I Love Pandas They Are So Cute(: I Hope They Are Going To Be Safe. the authors purpose is that there are the first baby pandas born sense 1982.

Well to start with I think that the mother is so cute since she doesn't let the father come near his babies because he can step on them or crush them since he weigh as much as 150 kilograms (330 lbs) like Fernandez said. This is a true mother who actually cares about her babies not like some real human mothers who don't even care about their babies and leave them to survive on their own. This shows how even animals have hearts and take care of their babies.Unlike human mothers mother pandas do show their love towards their babies and take care of them by protecting them from any possible danger that surrounds them. It's really depressing seeing how the father doesn't really care about his babies who were barely born. Hopefully when the babies grow and are able to protect themselves from the threats of death the father cares about them as well as the mother. Also in the future hopefully the babies are able to have off springs so there can be a bigger population that prevents them from becoming an extinct species.

AWEEEEE! It is to cute. Even when they are older they are so cute. I wish I had one, I dont know what i would do with it but I know I want one ha ha.

If I have a change to see one  baby  panda  I will  wet it  to my house and  give the poor animal  food and milk  like  in the zoo so it doesn't die in my house and I will take care  of it
