Two New Guinea Men Holding Hands, 1970
Two New Guinea Men Holding Hands, 1970: Irving Penn is perhaps best known for his fashion photographs that, beginning with his notable 1950s series of the Paris collections, defined a new look for magazines. By placing models against plain backdrops, Penn removed the familiar indicators of space or scale and allowed fashion to stand alone as the subject of his images

I like how he just used what he had. He did not make any weird backgrounds or Photoshop. And it has more of a basic yet modern look to it too. I think it is very interesting and surprised not many people commented on this picture.
That guy looked freaky!I bet Freddy Kruger would run from him.I think it is cool the way he wanted art to stand out in the crowd. Most people look at art and think ''that is cool looking'' but they don't get that art is so much more than pencil on paper or oil on canvas. It is sad how people attempt to steel ones feelings because it is worth money, the reason why it is so much money is because it is feelings.
This one makes me laugh. Same with Cora , one of my really good friends ! When i see this it is like looking at another friend of mine, Garrett Mixon ! He is not ugly or funny looking or anything, he just makes me laugh. Something about him , i will tell you ! Ahh English class ! Good times, good times!~
This picture looks really funny to me . It looks like an indian man wearing a weird looking hat . I wonder how this is art . Taking pictures really shouldnt be known as art unless you make somthing then take a picture of it .
Hm. This is actually interesting. I was expecting something about somone saying that they were non-straight just because they were holding hand for a MAGIZINE picture.
That is really interesting that makes me want to learn more about it.It seems like he is a great photographer it would be really fun to work with him.I think that his fashion and work seems fanominal.
Well that's interesting! I like the way he wanted fashion to stand alone as the subject of his work. I think the reason he wanted the fashion to stand out is because he wanted a new look for the magazines.
