Tween suspended for “bad” haircut
Tween suspended for “bad” haircut
A young Cincinnati Bengals fan has been penalized for clipping. Dustin Reader got the NFL team's stripes and "B'' insignia cut into his hair as a tribute to the team. When he showed up to school in the southwest Ohio city of Hamilton on Monday, officials put the eighth-grader into in-school suspension.
The school said its code of conduct prohibits extreme and distracting hairstyles.
Reader's parents and barber said they don't understand why the haircut is out of bounds. His father said his son just wants to show pride in the 6-2 Bengals. School officials said he will continue to do his studies away from other students until the hair grows back or he changes the style.

The student should not have been suspended. He was just showing pride. I have seen people with extreme hair cuts and this is nothing compared to this. Personally, I love his hair and team spirit!
I don't think this student should have been in in-school suspension for his haircut. He was just proud of the team he liked and he wanted to support them.
I totally agree with you joshc17. Students shouldn't be penalized for what they do to support the team that they like. I should get a haircut with a big star on the back of my head!!!
I don't understand why the school made such a big deal of this haircut. I understand it's distracting but if the other kids were that hung up on it then they never paid really attention in class anyway.
I belive what the school did was wrong becuase this boy was showing his spirit for his team. The boy should have not been suspended for this and it is wrong by the school board.
I think that it is ridiculous how he got suspended for his Bengals haircut. It's not like there was anything bad or wrong with it.
He is showing team pride for the Bengals! i would do that for my team if they were doing that good after terrible seasons. Dont suspend a kid for that.
That was oncalled for and over exagerated,he should not have got suspended in any way just because he got a haircut. I see people all the time with haircuts way way crazier than that(not that that is crazy in any way).Really oncalled for.
This is one of the dumbest things I've seen. There's not one bad thing written in the back of his head. He is supporting his favorite football team. I could see him getting iss if it had a cuss word or bad picture, but a football team that is a little ridicouls. The school I attend has a dress code and I have seen kids come to school with designs in the back of there head and not get in a bit of trouble. The principle at our school will compliment on it. In my opinion this is one of the stupidest thing's ever seen!
An eight grader gets suspended because of his hairstyle. Further more, the boy had the letter "B" on the back of his head along with the Bangles stripes. The school says it's against the conduct and that it's a distraction. Since they thought it was distracting he was suspended and told to do his studies at home for a while. This will continue until he gets a new hairstyle or his hair grows back. For this reason his parents are confused. They don't understand why the haircut is not allowed. I wonder how many people have gotten suspended for this same reason.
