Taylor Swift tops American Music Awards

Taylor Swift tops American Music Awards Taylor Swift and Adele tied with three wins at the American Music Awards, but the event belonged to the country superstar after she beat the soulful crooner, as well as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Lil Wayne, to win artist of the year, the ceremony's highest accolade, which the 21-year-old singer-songwriter previously claimed in 2009.

"This is so crazy," beamed Swift, who also picked up the trophies for favorite country female artist and favorite country album for "Speak Now."

Other winners included Maroon 5 as favorite pop-rock band/duo/group, Beyonce as favorite soul/R&B female artist, Bruno Mars as pop/rock male artist, Foo Fighters as favorite alternative rock artist, Rihanna for favorite soul/R&B album for "Loud," Hot Chelle Rae as new artist of the year and Lady Antebellum as favorite country band/duo/group.

I was really happy when she won this award!! I am a huge fan. I loved how when she accepted the award she was so gracious. She thanked so many people in her speech. Because she wanted to thank everyone she had all of the names written on her arm.

I'm so happy that Taylor Swift won! I think she is such a good singer! I cant believe she actually beat all those other great artists, But she is very good so I guess its possible! Congrats Taylor Swift!

I think Adele should of won it, she really does deserve it through what an outcome she came through ever since she got surgery on her voice!

Taylor should just be named best singer-songwriter of the year. Its like every time she turns around she always get a really good rating and she always winning these amazing awards. Swift is like my number one role model.

Congrats !! I love country music all day ever day. You have an amazing voice. Your voice reaches out to people. The music you write tells us about you, most of the time. You are like Americas best country singer. You have a gift and you know how to use it! And to think you won the award, that is GREAT!! WOW and you song in the white house that is GREAT!!

Congrats Taylor Swift. I love how you sing. Country music is not my favorite kind of music but when I hear your kind of music it doesn't even sound like country. My dad loves listening country music and listens to music once in a while. When I listen to the country music that my dad listens to I don't feel comfortable listening to that kind of music. I guess that it is true that you are the best country music female then any other. Congrats also to bruno mars and katy perry.

I do not really listen to Taylor swift but i am glad that she is finally getting the recognition she deserves. She has become fairly popular recently so I am not really surprised. After the whole Kanye thing she seems to have recovered fairly well.It is surprising to see that she tied with Adele because Adele is prety big right now.
