Taxidermist saves Lady Gaga's dress of meat
California taxidermist has earned a rare place in pop history.
Sergio Vigalato (VIG'-uh-lot-oh) preserved Lady Gaga's now-famous raw-meat dress for display in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland.
The project has prompted a swarm of media interest in the 66-year-old former Southeast Alaska charter boat skipper who's originally from Brazil.
Vigalato operates American Taxidermy in Burbank, Calif. That's where he was contacted by the museum about preserving the dress that Lady Gaga wore at the September 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.
Vigalato was unaware of the dress or the artist when reached two months after the show. But he agreed to the project anyway.
The ensemble, which Lady Gaga said was a statement about equality, arrived at his shop frozen and decomposing. He restored it over the next three and a half months, and the dress went on display in June.

That's pretty gross that she actually wore that. but saving its worse! iI think it would get all moldy so whats the point of saving it?
The main points of this article are that Sergio Vigalato found a way to preserve the dress in the museum. He fixed the dress until 2 months after the MTV Music awards.He didn't even know about the dress or about lady gaga but he a greed to the project anyway.
I think that this is a good idea to preserve it for the future in the museum so that in the future other new artists can be inspired .
Wait, so Lady Gaga wore that RAW MEAT dress with NOTHING under? Like no cloth or underdress? The dress would be so squishy! And raw meat can change form super easily by squishing it...Lady Gaga is GROSS! And weird! And no, I'm not going to say sorry to Lady Gaga fans.
That looks so cool but why would she wear that? And is it real meat? If so does it have to be in a fridge or frezzer and does it go bad or rot if it isn't in a fridge or frezzer?
I know Lady Gaga wear really cool clothes, but a meat dress? It looks really cool though! I wonder what Vigalatos reaction was when Lady Gaga asked him to make a meat dress for her? Im glad they put it in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because I think it is defintely a thing to put in there!
I think that lady gaga has weird cloths for number 1. But if its displayed in something then it must be pretty cool for other people to look at. Some people might not even look at it because they think its gross or set there own opinion about the dress. My opinion i think that some of her cloths are very odd and weird
Lady Gaga the queen of pop music wore a meat dress to the MTV music awards. I know that Lady Gaga wears the weirdest and craziest outfits ever. It still shocked me when she showed up at that event in a meat dress. Many people spoke about it for days and now being able to see that the dress is in display is just incredible. One outfit she wore ends up in display because of how different it was. The guy who made the dress must be extremely impressed at all the attention the dress got. Gaga is an amazing and very inspiring person. Many people are huge fans or “Monsters” and are extremely happy about her dress being up in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It’s still really weird but it amazes me that the dress was that popular.
WOW!! First of all, Lady Gaga always wears weird outfits that are sometimes creative but also just weird. This meat dress is a perfect example of weird!!! I mean who wears a meat dress?? I bet that it's cold, wet,and uncomfortable!!!! And I think that by now the dress is moldy and just disgusting to look at!!
This is really cool, but disgusting. I thought the dress would get all moldy. I do not think I would want to wear this and have it sticking to me. I wonder if it smells really bad.
This meat dress is very ugly to the point where I just want to throw up. This how you know Lady Gaga don't have no kind of taste in clothes probably in shoes too.
