South Koreans use balloons to send socks north
South Korean activists have floated giant balloons carrying boxes of socks into North Korea.
The activists hoped Saturday that North Koreans could wear the socks or trade them for food during the harsh winter. Associated Press video showed five helium-filled balloons rising into the air at an observation post in the South Korean border city of Paju.
South Korean activists have used balloons in the past to send anti-North Korean leaflets across the heavily guarded border.
North Korea strongly denounces the leaflets but hasn't mentioned past efforts to send daily necessities.

This is absolutely brilliant. It is so interesting that they use this method, to get things over the wall. I have always wondered if this was an actual use of transport. I find it really sympathetic that they sent socks to those in need. This is very appreciable.
Yeeehaaaa, and one sock in the (h)air, one! But is it smuggling to send socks in the air??? It is fishy, isn't it? Anyway, it is not my cup of tea...I want some concrete, some palpable, not little baloons in the air, depending of the wind, the clouds and the rain...Otherwise ,really good idea, it feels good to know that there are people that think a little bit, I had started to desesperate..No no, I am laughting. There is more than"some people". For example, the person that will correct this comment. Someone has sayed: "Happy are the madmen, because they will allow to pass the light". I don't know if the translation is good, but I wish it is meanigful because it is one of the best things I have ever read, and I think that it is a good citation according to this "airway sock sending from South to North Korea, in the cold of the winter". It would be a good title for a novel, don't you think??? Anyway, I stop here, I wish you are not dead of laught...
Thats very nice of South Korea to do. But why would they do something nice for someone who hates them. I hope that North Korea dos'nt attack South Korea again
I find that kind of weird that South Korea is sending socks to North Korea. It's nice, but aren't they against each other? At least South Korea is trying to make peace or something, by helping them for the winter.
That's kind of interesting that South Korea sends socks to North Korea by using balloons. I never even knew that South Korea sends socks to North Korea. That's really nice of South Korea.... I think? I wonder how North Korea get the socks down from up there.
This is really cool that they used balloons to send them. But if they can send socks why didn't they send them other things that can be more useful?
Oh my gosh!!!!!!!! South Koreans are so nice!!1 :) I love South Korea!!! I want tween tribune to type something amazing about Seoul Korean groups like Super Junior or SHINee :D Maybe even NU'EST Or TeenTop..... woah!~~~~ Seoul Korea, Aja aja FIGHTING!!!~
This is kind of weird because sending socks to north korea is weird. But it is a good way to send socks to north korea.
In North Korea its going to snow socks. The worst thing that could happen is that it goes up in Russia. Russia is colder, they need those.
This just shows how friendly a nation can be! GO SOUTH KOREA! So North Korea invaded South Korea, and the South gives them socks! How thoughtful. But for all we know, maybe South Korea is afraid of the North and is trying to make them happy? You never know.
