250 skiing Santas dash through snow Hundreds of skiing Santas were dashing through the snow at a Maine ski resort over the weekend.

Sunday River says 250 skiers and snowboarders signed up for its 11th annual Santa Sunday event, with registration filling up in 12 minutes.

For the event, skiers got a free lift ticket if they came dressed as Santa and donated $10 or more to the Bethel Rotary Club's annual drive to provide gifts for the area's children in need.

They also got an additional lift ticket valid through Dec. 18.

How could they be able to get 250 santa outfits? They must be over exhausted by snow. I would be freezing my beird off if I had to do that .

Man I would have loved to see that. I would have just gone there to see how many people wiped out. Finally we could see who the real Santa was with a ski off.

OK, this is just plain HILARIOUS!! It would really be a sight to see a bunch of skiing Santa's. But it was for a good cause, and I think that it is so cool that it all filled up in twelve minutes. I think they should have a Santa thing like that every single year. I also think it would be cool to have it a national thing and that every year it shifts to another state. It could really help with kids in need and it might be really fun.

Wow that’s really cool. I would have loved to be a part of that but I can’t ski. If I could I would easily want to go to Maine for the Santa’s dash through the snow. I think it was a good idea to have them donated some money to provide gifts for kids that are in need.

That is so funny.I wish it snowed were i live, so i could dress up like santa and ski.It's just so funny.I love snow.I went to Reno and had a great time.

Honestly, that would look pretty weird on my street! Still, it's kind of cool to get free tickets for a ski lift by dressing up as Father Christmas!!! Hee-hee. I know what I am going to do next time I go to Maine! Ho ho ho!

WOW!!! That is cool that people do that sort of stuff just so they can ski.I have never gone to the mountain to ski.Even though I am scared to go ski in the mountains or anywhere else to go ski.Anyways I think that is cool that people do that .
