Simon thinks a woman will win Simon Cowell believes a woman is likely to win his final season on "American Idol." The sharp-tongued Brit says one of the 12 women among the ninth season's 24 semifinalists has a good shot to win the Fox singing contest.

"We've had a few years of guys winning the show, and I would say there is definitely a better chance of a girl winning the show this year, certainly, than last year," Cowell said.

"I'd love to find a Taylor Swift," he said.

Lady Gaga is his top pick for a potential music industry mentor to guide this season's contestants, which include platinum-haired crooner Lilly Scott and throwback rocker Tyler Grady. Cowell called the outrageous Lady Gaga the "most relevant pop artist in the world right now."

Past mentors have included Gwen Stefani, Dolly Parton, Jamie Foxx and Quentin Tarantino.

As far as his replacement goes, Cowell said a couple of folks have already asked him for his gig, but they were both "boring." He insisted the right candidates must have music industry experience and "know what they are talking about."

All the girls on American idol are worse then the guys .the guys are beast this year and the just think they are good .They are not.

Well why is he saying that .He says no to anyone. That is just dumb he shouldn't be saying that. I think he is a bad judge. Well maybe a girl mightwin ,but it shouldn't be coming from his mouth.

That's funny that he thinks a girl should win but i still agree that's fair . hes awesome .i think Simon should of stayed what do you think. I'm so sad that he left he was the best part. didn't you. I don't like it any more now that they got rid of him.

I absolutely agree. I loved simon on american idol. He is halarious and made the show interesting. The only part i watched this year was the tryouts.

I don't think a girl is going to win.Even though Simon is going in all,but this time I don't agree with him.Right now is a really tight competition,but i don't think a girl will win.I think an artistic person will win.So i don't agree with Simon.Sorry Simon:)
