See you later, alligator Police in a Detroit suburb have picked up an unusual suspect: a 3-foot-long alligator.

Deputy Chief James Nardone (nar-DOH'-nee) says officers nabbed the reptile Tuesday as it strolled along a suburban street in Trenton, Mich.

He says the gator is probably someone's pet. He joked Wednesday that it likely didn't swim into the suburb, which is perched on the shore of the Detroit River.

Authorities are holding the alligator at an animal control office until it can be moved to a nonprofit rescue that handles abandoned exotic animal cases in nearby Belleville.

An alligator was found in Detroit. Thats creepy that they found a three foot aloligator in detroit that could have aten somebodys dog. Why would sombody have an alligator as a pet?

That is one weird thing you don't see every day. I wonder if that owner had any idea that it was missing. I wonder if it just got out of the door on its own.

that is a small alligator and it is so cute if it would be that small for ever i would keep it and if it did not bite me

i think alligators are cool. they are my second favorite animals.i wonder how the alligator got away, i also think it would be cool to have an alligator for a pet.I want one for a pet, and if it gets to big, i could put him in a bath tub or a near by lake or pond

I would like an alligator as a pet. I would have it be my body guard until it died. I would train it to bit other people so i don't get hurt. I wold pet it if it ate a bully.

Well that is funny. There is another one on an alligator getting caught at a school. I can not think of it. Bye alligators. Just take them back.

Lol wow that is crazy because i think it was someones pet unless somewere there is a mother to the baby alligator. Maybe it ran away or somwething.
