School agrees to allow "skinny jeans"

School agrees to allow "skinny jeans" Students in a Pennsylvania school district have gotten approval to remain fashion forward.

The Catasauqua (cat-uh-SOCK'-wuh) Area School District approved a revised dress code this week. It allows students to wear so-called skinny jeans.

The tight-fitting jeans had been banned under an earlier dress code. But parents complained they were having a hard time finding jeans that wouldn't be banned under the district's definition.

Board member Patricia Snyder says the district was trying to prevent students from wearing suggestive clothing. But ultimately the district determined jeans could be skinny but still appropriate.

The board also gave in to requests to back off a ban on hooded sweat shirts. Low-cut tops, leggings and ripped pants are still barred.

Wow, that is so unfair! My school allows us to wear leggings, skinny jeans, and hooded sweatshirts. Leggings are super comfortable and I wear them for everything from band concerts to sleep. I have three pairs and they are my most favorite things to wear to school, and I pair them with hooded sweatshirts and and slightly big T-shirts.

WOW!!! I disgree with this article.I think is so stupid because it think kids can wear whatever they want, but the thing is that they shouldn't wear anything like so called booty shorts to school, or anything that below your breast's.But i would have to say wearing skinny jeans are okay i mean it's not like there showing there legs way up high. At lease it's like covering both legs is nothing wrong with skinny jeans.

I think it is good they can have skinny jeans now. Because i don't get the point they can't. They are just (reguler) jean's only they are tight on you. And come in different colors, bleach, tie dye, some evrn hole's are in them. But i dont think they allow hole pants at school. You could get sent home or even yelled at the teacher for hole's in your pants some schools do. My point is that skinny jeans are just fine. And i love skinny jeans. They look nice on people alot of people i know love skinny jeans to. I have even saw griwn ups where them. That's what i have to say about it...!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you because there is no reason to not let kids wear skinny jeans I mean that kids have there own style like some people like shorts and some people like regular jeans or skinny jeans.

i think that people should wear whatever they want i mean there parents spend there money on there clothes and then there not allowed to wear the clothes im a boy though peace out!

I don't understand why they didn't allow skinny jeans in the first place there is nothing revealing about them! They are just tighter than normal jeans and there is nothing wrong with that i think. I also don't understand why they would band hooded sweat shirts!

schools should definitly let students wear skinny jeans! I wear skinny jeans all the time to school. Now whenever the shirt doesn't cover at least your waist I could understand because that is way too inappropiate for school

wow! that is so stupid! i cant believe they banned skinny jeans! i love skinny jeans! i dont know what the main diffrence between regular jeans and skinny jeans is besides the fact that skinny jeans hug your legs more than regular jeans do. and banning hooded sweatshirts is just unbeliveable, along with banning low cut tops and leggings! i can understand banning ripped pants though. if they ban skinny jeans @ my school i will b so upset!

I think that it is really dumb that they didn't allow skinny jeans. Skinny jeans are just like regular jeans except they hug your legs a little tighter. I also think it is ridiculous that they didn't allow hooded sweatshirts. There's not even a reason for it.
