Sasha and Malia: First babysitters?
There may soon be two additions to the babysitters club! In an interview with ABC News, President Obama said that Sasha, 9, and Malia, 12, are almost ready to watch other kids.
When asked what he and Michelle are teaching his daughters about money, Obama responded, "You know, it's a great question. What I'm doing now...is they're getting an allowance. They're starting to get old enough where they may be able earn some money babysitting. They've got their own savings accounts."
He added, "What I'm trying to explain to them are basic concepts about savings, about interest. If they keep a hundred dollars in their bank account at 2 or 3 percent interest for six months, this is how much money they're going to have at the end of it."

I Guess That's Cool. I Mean, When Would They Ever Be Alone To Watch Someone Else's Kids Though ? They Would Be Watching Kids While The Secret Service Watches Them All.
Sasha, 9 , and malia,12, are learning how to babysit.
First, i don't think they should learn to babysit. they're a little too young to go off and babysit, and i dont even think they know how to change diapers if they need to.
Next, they probably don't know how to take care of babies. baby care is important and i dont think sasha (or malia maybe) know how to lift and carry kids.
lastly, i think they're too young to have a savings account. Savings accounts have tons of money! they could buy cell phones with that kind of money!
Therefore, i don't think Sasha and Malia are quite ready to babysit yet.
I think that is cool that they are all ready baby sitting. I like that because they are starting to go to a next level in live.

I agree with Obama, babysitting is a great idea! If you love kids like I do, then it's a good way to enjoy yourself AND make money. In just 2 days (13 hours total), I made $80!!! I babysit these two adorable little girls, Giana and Kaelyn <3 I just met them the first day I babysat them and it was only for two days and I already love them and miss them when I'm not there <3 Going back Friday and I'm sooo excited!!! (:
I think that this is a good idea. He is making it so his kids understand they have to make there own money. This shows them a life lesson that will be helpful to them for a life long time.
I think they should get a chance to babysit like regular kids. Like I babysit during the summer and it is really fun and a good way to earn money!
That is great news that they will soon be old enough to babysit other children. They will probably earn a lot of money if they do start babysitting younger children. It's a big responibility to take care of younger children when Sasha who's only 9 and Malia who is only 12. I might even start babysitting under children myself. This is going to be a great oppurtiuty to earn some money.
I think its great that Obama is teaching his daughters how to save their money. Obama and his wife are also helping them to become responsible young ladies. By the girl babysitting others they are also helping many of people who can't find a babysitter. In my opinion i find that the girls are indeed becoming more and more responsible as they grow up and getting a job is one of them. So starting off little help you become bigger. This story is just the same when I was their age. I was always coming to my mom and dad for money. So, she came up with an idea, that every time i babysit m brothers she would pay me and I could save it up instead of asking her for money all the time. But, to my surprise, it really worked and helped me at the same time. So, Obama and his wife wanting their daughters to have a little job so they can earn a little bit of cash shouldn't hurt.
That actually really is a good idea.. But they have their own savings account ........that's even more interesting..... My mom wouldn't let me have my own saving account only a PIGGY BANK!!!!!!!!!
