Prez sends 1st tweet - sweet!
President Barack Obama has personally thanked some American Red Cross workers for their efforts following the earthquake in Haiti last week. He also sent his first Twitter message.
Obama and first lady Michelle Obama went to American Red Cross headquarters a few blocks from the White House on Monday, and toured the Disaster Operations Center.
Obama thanked the workers, all seated at computer stations, for their efforts and urged them to keep up what he said was great work.
After leaving one station where workers monitored Twitter messages, Obama said he had just "tweeted." He said it was the first time he had done so. Obama pushed the button on a message that said he and the first lady were visiting.

Does anybody really care about the president tweeting? If anybody does then they need to do something to occupy their minds elsewhere and with more important things.
I don't think its such a big deal cause twitter is a waste of time to me. The only reason that people go on twitter is to tell people stupid little things that don't matter like what they are going to wear or were there going who really cares about that, people should do something other than sit on the computer saying they have green socks on or something like that!!!
good to know that Barak Obama is caring about Haiti, but then again why is he worrying about another country more than USA, PLUS he dosent need to be on twitter he needs to be worring about this health care plan that he is forcing people to buy!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that the whole thing was generous to do. I think that it is cool that he was on Twitter and I think he is trying to show that he does care about others.
Obama is using Twitter? That is cool. I never thought that a president would sent a tweet say that to the workers. I would be happy if I were famous and send a first tweet.
Thats cool that the presidant tweeted. Its cool that he thanked all the workers at the Red Cross for helping all the people in Haiti.
It is really cool that the president is using twitter to stay in contact with the American people. I like Mr. Obama and all that he is doing!
I think that that is funny that Obama just sent his first twitter because my mom has a friend that helped make twitter and a lot of people that are younger than him have used twitter so much more than him.

I personally think that twitter is overrated. Twitter is fun for some people, but no for all. So if it helps the president then so what. It could help with getting messages to other people instead of calling or texting. On the other and i am glad he is helping out with the Hati relief.
