President gets charge out of new Chevy Volt

President gets charge out of new Chevy Volt Don't say President Barack Obama isn't dutiful and law-abiding.

When Obama toured a General Motors assembly plant Friday, he was invited to test drive a battery-powered Chevrolet Volt inside the cavernous facility.

He looked beseechingly to his top aides, including press secretary Robert Gibbs, all of whom shook their heads. Obama appealed to the chief of his Secret Service detail, who threw up his hands in resignation.

The smiling president got in, buckled his seat belt and proceeded to drive — drum roll, please — 10 feet, and probably not above 2 mph, as news cameras clicked away.

"I hope it has an air bag," Gibbs said.

Obama, who almost never gets to drive, pronounced the ride "pretty smooth."

That's really cool he got to drive a Chevy Volt. If I had that car I would tell people to keep a fall distance as far as you can, so they don't have to mess it up.

That's pretty cool that he got to test drive that car. But if that were my car I would have told the president to stay far away.

I am a Chevy person and so is my dad.Even my grand father! So Chevy really does run deep.Including with the president. To me the Volt is a finance friendly and a sleek looking car.But that does not take my interest in the new Camaro and the Corvette.

that sounds like a good car to have. it would be fun to be President, he gets to try thing we cant! that car sounds like it is going to have a good sale because of the president now.

It sounds like a very good car to have. I mean being the persient and having that car is ok but i would think he would have a better car.Like a sports car or at lest something better than that.

It sounds like a decent car, it doesn't use gas but it uses electricity. At the same time it still doesn't really help the enviorment that much. I definately think its cool and nice for him to drive for once because he usaually doesn't drive but I also think he shouldn't be fooling around. Only because he needs to be doing his job. Lately he's been on vacation and it isn't the right thing to be doing at the moment with all these kinds of econmomy issues.

Barack Obama is right, the Chevrolet Volt is pretty smooth. At the 2011 Auto Show in Chicago, they let you ride in a Chevrolet Volt and it's amazing. When you close the windows it's completely silent. And when you run of of gas, it switches to electricity for another 100 miles. This car is what the gods drive.

men obama needs to stop messing around and do his job cause I'm getting tired of writing about obama cause he is staring to annoy me and i don't want to get in trouble cause you cant do your job and cause you think you can but you cant

Electric cars will only be good for the environment when all of the electricity comes from solar and wind.
To make the electricity for those cars, coal has to be burned somewhere else, and then transported over wires to the electric car. It is the same as a gas car, except less efficient and more expensive.
Also, it stinks for president Obama. He can't go anywhere without all his security. No Freedom at all.
How Unconstitutional.

WOW!!!!!!!!! That's cool that the president of the U.S.A. has a brand new car and it's pretty cool.It is a Chevy Volt. It is red to and he also said "It to the press that he likes his new car."
