In Poland, it's raining boots

In Poland, it's raining boots Hundreds of Polish school kids are getting a leg up with free rubber boots as they face months next to a muddy construction site.

Officials in the town of Jarocin gave 1,000 pairs of made-to-fit boots to children and teachers whose school is set in an area where new underground water and sewage pipes are being installed.

On Friday the children received their boots, which came in different colors and styles — including army green camouflage patterns for boys and bright pink versions for girls.

Jerzy Wolski, the town official in charge of water systems, said the city persuaded the construction company to pay 20,000 zloty ($7,000) for the shoes, noting it is just a fraction of the project's 40 million zloty ($14 million) price tag.

He said the boots are meant "to give the children some joy and make their lives easier" as the road work continues until August.

This is great! The kids will be happy and their Moms also because they will not get mad that the kids are getting mud inside their houses. What a great thought the company is providing boots for the kids. This will be better in the long run and everyone will be happy and they get a new water system in and new pipes. It is better than having no school so getting free boots is great. Good luck to the town of Jarocin I hope it all works out.

Even though this is just a small act, it will definetly make things easier for all these kids. This is a very generous donation. It's also cool that it is offered to them in different styles, I never even knew that the weather was so bad in Poland.

Those are really nice boots. I really wish I had some of thoses. But that was really nice of yall doing that for them.

That is really nice of donating rubber booots to polish children that dont have any at all kind of like a foster home but instead it's a school.

that was very nice and generous to donate 1,000 wellies (rainboots) to those kids. im sure they will be glad that they wont have to walk around and get soaked in mud though.

That is so generous. I am so happy the kids got boots. My family is Polish, so it's always interesting to hear stories about it. 1,000 boots is a lot to donate. All of them must be grateful that they dont have to walk in mud. (:

That is very sweet, and I'm sure it will prevent the children from getting really dirty. If I were one of those children I would be so grateful. I hope the construction turns out to be a success soon.

" In Poland, it's Raining Boots" tells about young kids getting rubber rain boots so its easyer to get to school while the sewage pipes are being built. I think thats amazing how kids need rain boots that badly thats just crazy. But at least people are making it better for the kids by giving them rain boots!!!!!!

Aaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwww i feel sorry for them. But im happy they are getting boots. I hope they are happy. They are going to have a fun time in the mud.

Wow. It enlightens my heart to hear that. I think that the world have trully forgotten what it is like to be nice so when I see things like that it reminds me that there is still some good people out there who want to change the world. Even the fact that each student gets a pair of boots is great. It makes me cry when I think that there are people don't have enough money to buy things like that so it is really great that those kids got boots. Wow this comment is really long.......awkward.
