Obama's tweens get ice-cold "treatment"
President Barack Obama took his daughters and friends Friday to sample a Hawaiian delicacy of ice shavings and flavored syrup, joshing with his group about winning college football teams on New Year's Day.
Obama and about 20 people drove to a shave ice store the president has visited during past trips to Hawaii. He ordered a flavor combination of lemon-lime, cherry and passion-guava syrups.
"It's the Snowbama," Obama said, noting that the store lists the combination on its menu.
He chose not to add sweet azuki red beans or ice cream, as some people do in Hawaii.
"I like my shave ice straight, no frills," said a casual Obama, wearing a white T-shirt, khaki shorts and sandals.
About 100 people packed into a shopping center parking lot to catch a glimpse of the vacationing president and his girls, who have largely stayed out of public view while on the island of Oahu. While waiting in line Obama teased a friend who rooted for Oregon. The Ducks lost to Ohio State in the Rose Bowl earlier in the day.
"He's heartbroken, so I'm buying him shave ice," Obama said.
The store — Island Snow — said on its Facebook page that the first daughters already had visited the store during this vacation.
First lady Michelle Obama was not seen with the group.

This is just mess up obama does not need no special treatment yooo. Obbamas is so annoying he doesit do anything for our country. I think almost the all world hate obama who likes obama. Like what is one thing that he did for our country so fair like come on .
obama need to stop getting a spacial treatment because he has not done anything to deserve because all ever does is take vacations and and re lake and he does not even know how to run this country and he needs to do his job right or don't do it all cause he is wasting his time and other people
I think it’s nice that Obama still goes places with his daughters, because even if he’s president I still think he should spend time with them. If my dad was president and he didn't’t spend so much time with me I would be sad. I do think that they can go places together but, they won’t have any privacy because everyone would be around him, want to take a picture with him, and talk to him.
I think that it's cool that Obama goes to the store just wearing pants ,t-shirt and, sandals. I think that's also weird because Obama is the President and he is going to the store like that. Also I like the president because he is the first black president to run the country. Also I like the president because he past the health care bill and now people can get health care. Another thing that I like about him is that he helps other countries.
I think that it's cool to see the president at a store not in a suit or some thing like that,wearing a t-shirt and khaki pants and sandals!!!! Don't forget Obama is the president!!!So he can't just go in a store like that,and he is the first black president!?!?!?
I think that would be cool if i was there to see Obama at a ice cream shop. I mean our own president at a ice cream shop that's pretty cool. If I was there I would so get his autograph and maybe take a picture with him. I wish my dad or mom was president that would be so cool. President Obamas kids are really lucky and they should be very thankful. This is why i think it would be cool to see Obama and his kids at a ice cream shop.
I think that it is nice that Barrack Obama still has time for his daughters even though he is president!And even though he is the president of the united states I still think that he needs his privacy! I bet he doesn't appreciate people taking pictures of him everywhere he goes! i mean I wouldn't like it. I would like my privacy with my two little girls! And i bet his girls like the attention cause they are like celebrities that live in The White House!
That's pretty cool how he and his family can live a some what normal life. Friends, vacations, and shaved ice! It sounds like a normal, happy-trip vacation to me!
I think its great that the president take a couple days away from the fortune and fame to take his family on a mini vacay' and act like a normal family again without pappratzzi.
I think that that was real cool of Obama, being the president, can have time to do normal things like go out and chill with his daughters and get normal stuff(like shaved ice!). If I were the president, I would still go on vacations, and do normal things, no matter how busy I was.
