National Christmas tree arrives in D.C.
A 67-foot-tall Englemann spruce from Wyoming has arrived in Washington, D.C., to be this year's U.S. Capitol Christmas tree.
It arrived by truck on Monday and Wyoming Sens. John Barrasso and Michael Enzi were on hand to receive it.
Workers cut off some of the stump before raising it on the West Front of the Capitol. It will be decorated with ornaments made by Wyoming residents, and the lights will be switched on Dec. 7.
It's the first time the Capitol tree has come from Wyoming.
A search began a year ago in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, and the Capitol superintendent of grounds made his choice in July.
It was felled in November and loaded on a truck for a winding journey of nearly 5,000 miles with stops for 35 community celebrations.

The people use a tree as a Christmas tree because that is what I think thats what they do in their state there where they are.
That is one big tree for being 67 feet tall.I would want a tree like that, but I don`t think it would fit in my house.I would like to see that tree in person.I wonder how they would put decorations on it,even with a really big ladder it would still be to tall.I also wonder who made that tree or if they found it,but I think they made it.
o my god.that's the biggest tree i have ever seen our Christmas tree is 8 feet and my mom thinks it's huge . i would love to have a big tree like that but we have to buy a bigger house.i wish i could put the decorations on that tree that would be awesome.
A 64 ft tree ?!?!?! WOW ! that is amazing . the white house should have 3 of them because the white house is sooooo big . I want to go visit this tree .
Wow that is a huge tree. I wonder how big those ornaments are? I would not want to be the guy who decorates that tree. I wonder where I could find one of those?
That is the biggest tree ever! Where did they get it? I have seen some that were big in Malls and sometimes outdoors but never any that big? how can the car hold that??! thats huge! My family uses fake trees, and ours is pretty big! D.C is lucky!!
they used a tree as a christmas tree and they have capital building they have a huge tree and they might used that .
At fist I thought that the tree was like flat because of how the picture was taken. But I realized it was just the picture turned. It is a very tall tree but kinda skinny. And how would you decorate it you better have a ladder. I think it would be hard to cut off some of the stump with out a lot of Friends and family and workers to help on the way. I think its so cool that Wyoming residents made the ornaments.
That is one crazy tall Christmas tree . It probably as tall as the building itself , maybe 300 foot at the least .
That's good that they got there Christmas tree and I cant believe that a tree could get that tall.IVE NEVER SEEN A TREE THAT TALL IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!!! I can just see that tree glow,It had Tobe really bright and probably had a lot of decorations.FUN Fact ; I always help my grandma put the decorations on her tree EVERY year and the tree always comes oi amazing
