Microsoft's Gates: No Apple products for family
One of the richest women in the world covets an iPhone. But she's not allowed to have one. Melinda Gates -- yes, of Microsoft's Gates family -- is quoted in the latest issue of Vogue magazine as saying, "Every now and then I look at my friends and say, ‘Ooh, I wouldn’t mind having that iPhone.' " However, she and husband Bill Gates -- who co-founded the Microsoft empire, which is of course the archenemy of Apple -- have a policy against iPods and iPhones.
"There are very few things that are on the banned list in our household," Melinda Gates said. "But iPods and iPhones are two things we don’t get for our kids."
Which probably makes the Gates offspring the only ones at school with Microsoft's Zune music players. Poor kids.

Wow, Bill Gate's kids cant have ipods because their dad is enemy's with apple. Poor them, those Zunes really aren't that good an ipod is way better then that, Du.
Why is there is a ipod touch 4g in apple and why is there going to be a new i pod is it the new ipod 5g comeing out soon.
wow i cant imagine a world with out apple me and my two best friends are apple junkies every one has apple! i have an ipod touch i have 2 friend sthat have iphones and i have 4 TEACHERS that have iphones and use them to multi task in school.
People are forgetting, this is Bill Gates he probably has the best Zune players and other non-apple merchandise lying around his house. How would you like to have an MP3 with more than 100GB worth of music lying around your room?
That sucks for the kids of Bill Gates, cause they can't get an iPod. ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AN IPOD! I bet its not just an iPod, It might be all Apple products! And that sucks cause apple products ROCK!! So what if its not from Microsoft, an iPod is better than a zune!!! Just cause Bill Gates and his wife are archenemys of apple doesn't mean their kids have to be the ones that suck it up!
Bill Gate's wife should get want ever she wants. I would not want to be one of their kids because if i was her kid i would not be able to get a phone that i want.
The article was about how Bill Gates wife Melinda Gates cannot have an iphone because they are the co-founders of Microsoft and Apple is the archenemy of Microsoft. I think that Apple iphones and ipods are better then Microsoft products but that’s just my opinion. Also I would buy the software for my computer from Microsoft because that’s the only good thing from Microsoft besides the video game system. Also the kids of Bill and Melinda cannot have these products either which is sorry because these systems are awesome and they wont have the opportunity to use them.
I truly agree, and I don't feel sorry for them. If they could get a zune working and have billions of dollars they don't have the most terrible life. Even though they don't have iphones which are about the most advanced phone ever I bet they can get by with maybe a lg. I think that all of you that they are a bunch of spoiled brats that just have to have what all the "cool" kids have. And as there dad being the co-founder of the most popular computer network in the world along with being one of the richest men in the world...there lives ain't that bad. And that's coming from a small town farmer.
this is kinda of a fail because whats the point of not letting your kids have these i mean apple isn't really that competetive anyway for the computers i mean who really whos them for me only my school does(which i am on right now)and officially i think microsoft is better but the ipod is WAY BETTER then the zune its not a COMPUTER GATES LET YOUR KIDS HAVE IT!!
That's too bad that Bill Gates' kids can't have iPods. I wouldn't like not having an iPod. Now that everyone has iPods, they must feel left out. I wonder what they feel like, not having Apple products.
