Maine man makes million mile mark
Maine man and his car are celebrating a million-mile milestone.
Joe LoCicero (luh-SISS'-er-oh) was given a 2012 Honda Accord at a parade in the city of Saco on Sunday after surpassing the million-mile mark on the odometer of his 1990 Accord. He reached the milestone last Thursday.
A Honda spokeswoman says it's the first time the manufacturer has documented an Accord reaching one million miles.
LoCicero says he bought the car in 1996 with 74,000 miles. The former mechanic did much of his own work. The secret he says is following maintenance schedules, using quality parts and driving safely.
He swears the transmission and engine are original.
Now that he has a new Accord, he's not sure what he'll do with the old one.

I think that is awesome to reach a million mile park.I would be so awesome if i went to that MILLION MILE park. I wonder if it is a million miles away?
It's a shame cars aren't built to last. I bet it helps to do regular maintenance checks though. One million miles is a lot of asphalt. I have been driving for 2 years and have only put 15,000 miles on my car. I bet Honda is liking the publicity.
I can't belive a shark would do that. Wow thats kinda scary. I probly would go on a boat anymore if that happened t me.
WOW!!! That is awsome. I wonder if the car still runs today after he 'got his new car. This can prove that a Honda can go that far.
One Million Miles....WOW! I also have never heard of a Honda going that much usually they start to falling apart at 150,000 miles. So, yeah, I'm impressed.
Wow. One million is a lot of miles. And I thought a hundred sounded like a lot! You would have to drive, like, every road in the entire USA twice or even three times over to get to a million miles! That is really cool.
Holy Crud Monkeys that is a ton of miles, the farthest I've heard a car to go is about 500,000 but not a million!!!! Lucky them.I wonder how much they travel. :P
It's cool that his car lasted so long without completely dying on him. More cars should be made to last that long. It would be better for us as the consumers and the manufactures.
Wow I can't believe that that car went 1,000,000 miles. I would think that the car would breakdown around 650,000 or so and need to get fixed. Maybe his new one will go that far.
