Landmark from 'Twilight' destroyed in Forks A popular spot for "Twilight" fans to have their pictures taken in Forks is gone.

The facade of Forks High School came down this month as the building is demolished to make way for a new school.

The Peninsula Daily News reports a campaign to raise $287,000 to save the 86-year-old facade raised only a few thousand dollars. It was one site in the Olympic Peninsula town visited by fans of the teen vampire-romance books and movies.

A terra cotta cornerstone and lintel reading "Quillayute High School" will be preserved in the new school.

Many thought there was a time capsule in the old cornerstone. All they found was a badly deteriorated copy of a 1925 weekly newspaper.

WHY WOULD THEY DESTROY IT? Many girls like Twilight even if they do not admit it. But really? Why does it need to be destroyed??? I think they should've saved it.

I dont see why they would do that! Basically every girl in the country loves twilight, so why would you destroy the school! I'm sure lots of girls were really upset when they heard the news. Now nobody can go see the school that was filmed in Twilight!

I will rat them! I'm not even kidding, you don't even know! They should keep the school because its amazing! I went to Forks, Washington and I took so many pictures of the school, so they should keep it! IF THEY DON'T I WILL PROBABLY HUNT THEM DOWN AND RAT THEM!!!!! NOT EVEN KIDDING :)

That's horrible to take down the forks school of the Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn movies took place. I think that they should leave that school up instead of demolishing it. The forks school is a historical history marker. The forks school belonged to the kids of the movies to go to that school that's where they lived in that time. That school has been there ever since they created all the Twilight movies.

i think that they should of kept that school. they could have built another school some where else. they probally could of made alot more money from it if they would of kept it and not tour it down.

That is so not fair. But it a good thing they already made the last movie before it got demolished. If not where would they have gone. I still think it's not fair.
