Lakeville Library to host storyteller
Storyteller, singer, musician and games leader John Porcino, will present a special afternoon of "Celebration in Stories and Songs" at the Lakeville Library at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12.
Porcino's programs pay tribute to various moments of life. His characters include a boy with peanut butter stuck to the roof of his mouth, a shy little mouse, a child who dreams of being "the best baseball player ever," and a dad who gets stuck to the wall while trying to hang wallpaper.
The free program is one of a series of public cultural presentations being held at the Lakeville Library supported in part from a grant from the Lakeville Arts Council; the local agency is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
The state cultural grants support a range of grass-roots activities such as the Lakeville Arts & Music Festival on Oct. 3, all of the Cultural Series at the Lakeville Library, historical preservation efforts, and other special programs.
For dates of additional 2009 Cultural Presentation Series events to be held at the Lakeville Public Library this year, visit the Lakeville Arts Council website at ww.lakevillearts.com.
