Frigid temperatures across Florida drove hundreds of manatees to balmy waters outside a power plant, shocked endangered sea turtles off the coast and even sent cold-blooded iguanas tumbling from trees.
Across the Sunshine State, animals coped with temperatures that plunged some 20 degrees below normal
More than 200 manatees lolled in 70 degree waters in a canal outside a Tampa Bay area power plant Thursday as crowds gawked on a viewing platform. Along with the sea cows, giant eagle rays and spinner sharks sought refuge in the warm waters.
Iguanas were seen falling out of trees in South Florida as some became immobilized and lost their grip in the cold. Iguanas are not native to Florida; many are pets, or descendants of pets that were released into the wild. At the Palm Beach Zoo, workers sent 50 parrots and some monkeys indoors. They also set up heat lamps around the park to ward off the chill for other animals.

How is it raining lizerds? I think it got so cold that the lizard went on the black top to get warmed up but I could be wrong.
It will be cool if animals were falling from the sky because you could have free pets without bying them.If i was there i could have a pet right now.
Raining iguanas! A dream come true. I love reptiles and would hate to see 1 fall out of a tree but if i was in Florida and 1 fell out of my tree i would like to keep it and take care of it. of course i love my bearded dragon but iguanas are nice pets too.
That is so sad because they coudn't even move . Also they falled from trees and the fish were parlized too because of that power plant....
It must be cold if cold blooded iguanas are falling out of trees. I wonder what a spinner shark and a sea cow are. It probally is possible for it to rain iguanas because if a tornado picks up iguanas and drops them somewhere it would be similar to raining iguanas.

That would be awesome if it rain iguanas! But it is pretty bad that some iguanas were immobilized and that the manatees and sea turtles got shock off the coast of power plants.
