How do you wrangle a runaway zebra?

How do you wrangle a runaway zebra? An Atlanta highway turned into a circus Thursday afternoon when an escaped zebra galloped along a busy section of interstate with police in hot pursuit.

The 12-year-old animal, named Lima, was exercising outside a downtown arena in preparation for an evening show when something spooked him, said Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus spokeswoman Crystal Drake. The zebra broke away from his trainers and bumped up against a fence, then wriggled through an opening.

"All of a sudden a zebra comes running down the street like a car," Nance told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Five or six police cars were in hot pursuit. And a bunch of officers on foot. But then I got scared, thinking ... what else is loose?"

Lima led his trainers and police on a 40-minute chase through downtown to the interstate highway that cuts through the center of the city, covering well over a mile along the way. Police cruisers blocked off all southbound lanes of Interstate 75 and were able to herd the zebra over to the right shoulder and off an entrance ramp, where his trainer was on hand to capture and soothe him, Drake said.

You run up to it take a stick then beat it down then jump on its back and then you beat him down again or shoot it

Hows dose it even get out in the first place is what i want to know. It was a wild goose chase i bet.

Kind of reminds me of the movie Madagascar or whatever, when the zebra breaks free from the Zoo, lol. I don't know, but I think it would be funny to see a random zebra running down the street.

crazy stuff i would had got the zebra myself and took it home with me and make it do tricks funny stuff anyways i dont know how they captured that wild horse covered with black and white.

Man that would be so fun to have to chase a zebra lol i have to chase chickens alot and i like to do that because it is fun but chasing a zebra would be really fun!!

Lol! The lady held a good point to be scared...! If a zebra is loose then what else could have possibly escaped from the zoo? O.O

That person must have been very scared. The policemen on foot must have got very tired. The zebra must have gotten scared and tried running away. How did they stop the zebra from running.

I would NEVER wrangle a zebra, because, unless you are great with that breed of animal, what if you do something wrong, you could hurt yourself, but more important you could hurt the animal!
When an animal is spooked, you dont want to do anything to make that worse!
Because animals, like that can become dangerous, for example, i ride horses, and when i am on a horse that spooks, it takes alot to bring them back to there normal relaxed state!
If, the person got hurt, ITS HIS OWN FAULT!

I think that it is sad that at trainer cant even hand a zebra from taking off when it gets spooked. If the officers wanted to end the chase faster they could have gotten a tranquilizer gun, then when it was out capture it and take it bake to its stall or something like that.

That zebra kind of looked like he was going to bite him or maybe the gay had some food and the zebra was hungry . I have never seen a zebra only in moves and in the zoo.
