Historic Hunters' Encampment
Historic Hunters' Encampment
In 1820 the Arkansas River valley was wild, untamed and relatively unexplored. Native Americans, hunters, soldiers and explorers were the first to visit the mountain. Living historians demonstrate firearms, clothing, cooking, camping equipment and other survival skills as they really “rough it." Venture back into history on a historic wagon trail. Free. 2-4 p.m. September 26, 2009
