Gaga channels Marilyn Monroe at Clinton concert
Lady Gaga enjoyed her "first real Marilyn moment" with former President Bill Clinton.
The envelope-pushing pop superstar was one of several musicians who performed Saturday night at the Hollywood Bowl during a concert celebrating the 10th anniversary of Clinton's foundation, which has sought to improve global health, strengthen economies worldwide, promote healthier childhoods and protect the environment for the past decade.
Emerging from atop an all-white treehouse, Lady Gaga sported a wavy blonde 'do and red lips like Marilyn Monroe, who famously crooned "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" to President John F. Kennedy in 1962.
Lady Gaga similarly serenaded Clinton and changed several of her lyrics to reference him, including swapping the title of "Bad Romance" for "Bill Romance."
"I thought, 'My God. I get Lady Gaga, and I will have a heart attack celebrating my 65th birthday," Clinton later said.
Clinton, who turned 65 on Aug. 19 but celebrated his birthday at a posh Hollywood party Friday night, sat between wife Hillary and daughter Chelsea in the front row throughout Saturday's event at the outdoor venue set against the Hollywood Hills. Other famous attendees included Maria Bello, Ashton Kutcher, Jason Segel, Ellen DeGeneres, Colin Farrell and Chevy Chase.

Well at least Marilyn Monroe is better than her meat dress and egg. During her generation, Monroe was a envelope-pusher, but compared to Gaga's previous outfits, I bet Monroe is a very tame monster. It's good that Bill Clinton enjoyed her performance; she's very talented, just a very odd duck of the bunch.
I am glad that lady gaga was given this oppurtunity to sing at his birthday. I hope that she was more modest then she usually is. I hope that everyone had a great time.
I do not think anyone could ever replicate Marilyn Monroe, she just has that wow factor in her personality. I am glad that Lady Gaga tried to show some of her personality in herself, and even though I was not there I feel that she did a great job!
I think that's awesome that another amazing and talented woman can do the same thing that another fantastic woman has. Also that we aren't forgetting our late entertainers of the past and remembering them as who they were.
I think that's awesome, and Bill Clinton is so lucky! I wish Lady Gaga would sing to me for my birthday! And I think it was cool how she tryed looking like Marilyn Monroe. She didn't really look like her but it was cool that she tryed!
If she is trying to look like Marilyn Monroe she would get a zero. But she gets two points for trying and loses seven for the costume.
All i have to say is that lady gaga is special. She will wear anything and dress like anyone/thing. She was re-creating the day Maryland Monroe sang happy birthday to JFK.
Listen, Marilyn Monroe isn't her own person. That's not even her name. Her name is Norma Jean, and she's quite of a nerd. But when she was Marilyn, She was a basic, average cheerleader. Just so you know. Bye-bye! :)
I am a Lady Gaga fan, so some of my views might be way different from those of others, but I think that Lady Gaga must have rocked as Marilyn Monroe. They are polar opposites, but still... A better question than "why?" is "why not?"
