Firefighters dismantle police car to save kitten This little kitty went home — but only after Vienna police and firefighters partially dismantled a police car to find it.

The naughty feline first woke residents of a Vienna neighborhood with its desperate meowing, then kept police and firefighters busy for much of the night.

She was found under the hood of a car but eluded her rescuers' grasp. The kitten took cover under several other cars before seemingly disappearing — except for her meow.

Firefighters and police finally struck paydirt after jacking up a police cruiser, then following the sound and tracing the wayward kitty to a small space inside the vehicle's floor panel.

But it took half an hour of elbow grease before the critter was nabbed and taken to an animal shelter.

But not before having the last meow.

"It bit my finger!" said firefighter Franz Zehetmeier, who finally collared the cat.

Well, I've always been a fan of cats, and if I was allowed to have another, I would have this one. Cute and furry, tragic and fun, I would adopt him in a second.

Hey, it wouldn't have bit the firefighters finger if they made it conferable! and it was scared! you always grab kittens by the scruff till there adults! that a way to handle them, and she must have been hungry, or just scared and talkative!

So cute, but the cat must not have wanted to be rescued and be taken away.. Cats usually don't come to people I'm not surprised and that it hid from the police and firefighters. I am glad it is safe now though it will have a good road to recovery now that it is will be with its owners. I just wnat to know how the kitten got under the floor panel? Anyone answer me please!!!! I want to know.

My question it how do the kitten get in the car in the first place? One time I had a kitten that got in my grandma's car and her got tangled with the engine built, and we didn't now that she was in there and we drove a foot away from the house and we herd her meow, so we put up the hood and the we found her but her leg was cut to the muscle so we took her the vet right away.

Firefighters dismantle police car to save kitten. Poor kitten,it probably liked the heat from the engine! I'm so glad they got it out of there safely! I am glad that the kitten got saved .....I hope the cat does not get stuck again.

thats good that they saved the kitten if i saw a cat stuck in something anything i would save it because i like animals and hate to see them in danger
