Dog trapped in car honks horn to alert owner A veterinarian said a dog trapped in a car on a 90-degree day in eastern Pennsylvania honked the horn until he was rescued. Nancy Soares said the dog was brought to her Macungie Animal Hospital last month after he had been in the car for about an hour.

She said Max's owner had gone shopping and was unloading packages when she returned but forgot that Max was still in the car. She later heard the horn honking and looked outside several times but saw nothing amiss.

Finally, she went outside and saw Max sitting in the driver's seat, honking the horn.

Soares said the owner immediately gave Max cold water to drink and wet him down with towels before rushing him to the clinic.

Soares said Max was very warm and panting heavily but had suffered no serious injuries, only heat exhaustion.

Aw poor dog! Very smart though. I wouldn't even think to honk the horn if i was in trouble! That dog will get a scholar for college one day. Ha ha.

Pore Max I cant believe that you can forget your dog in the car for over a hour. Next time don't forget the dog especially when it is over 90 dig-res out side come on people.

That's funny how animals seem to pick up things after humans. It's sort of like maonkey see, monkey do. The dog must have been pretty smart to be able to constantly honk the horn. I can see honking a horn once or twice being cool, but this dog did it about seven times! I wonder what the owner's respond when they heard what the dog had done?

Max must have been very smart to do that! He might have done it on accident Though. I wonder how he got himself trapped in a car? At least the people saved him and took care of him.

Max must have be a really smart dog to know to do that! If I was trapped in a car on 90-degree day, I would have done the same. I'm glad the dog didn't suffer any serious injuries.

This is a very talented dog!!He knew he was in trouble and he honked the horn when he wanted to be rescued.This dog is awesome.I would love to have him as my pet.

Awwww that is a really smart dog, his owner must have him trained well. At least this dog knows that he was a really bad situation at the time. I have to say at least it wasn't a child.

I would love to have a dog that smart. If my dog was trapped in a car I would get him out, give him some water to drink and take him t the animal clinic with the air ON in the car. That owner must have been very lucky if she had a dog who could honk horns, that dog probably would have died in the car if he was in the car much longer.

That's probably the smartest dog in the world, poor Max. If I could I'd sew the pants off that lousy owner. I'd bet the hippies who've want to too. GET SOME GLASSES WOMAN. And she didn't even check in her car! I mean that's sort of common sense right there.
