Do you want to live on the moon?
Do you want to live on the moon?
Newt Gingrich wants America to establish a colony on the moon. Mitt Romney says it's not worth the enormous cost.
The GOP presidential debate turned to space Thursday night as the candidates were asked about Gingrich's call for developing a permanent lunar presence as a way to invigorate a key Florida industry.
Gingrich says NASA should offer prize incentives to businesses that develop commercial flight to the moon and beyond. He holds up that idea as an example of bold thinking.
But Romney chalks it up as pandering to local concerns over national interests. He says that if a business subordinate brought the space idea to him he'd fire him.
Texas congressman Ron Paul drew laughs when he said the people he'd send to the moon are politicians.

I think that living on Mars is way crazy, at least for now. Maybe a lot later in the future, it could happen, but I do not think that it is worth it right now. As long as we keep the Earth healthy, we should be fine.
I would love to live on the moon... but there is no gravity or water or air, and other things. It would be very very very very cool.
That's actualy really interesting! i think that would be cool to try to live in such a different place! I think the ride over and back would take a while! haha but thats super cool! I dont think it will happen soon but still. thats amazing.
Well, I believe it would not cost ANYTHING if all states or continents just work together, I mean think of the things we could accomplish.
I would love to live on the moon! I think it'd be so cool! Starting things on the moon would be amazing. I would like to live there! It would be a big change!
I think this is an interesting idea-I mean, who wouldn't want to live on the moon? But Mitt Romney is right: it would cost a lot of money and a lot of people might be really scared to live on the moon, so in reality, it might not even be that popular. And also, shouldn't Newt Gingrich be focusing on his campaign and not far-fetched ideas such as this?
A colony on the moon would be possible in the future, and I know some people that would probably like to live there, but I wouldn't want to. When I went to the NASA place in Houston, I learned a lot of stuff that made me interested to learn more, but not to go there.
In space, you would have to exercise for two hours or so to keep your body in shape. On Earth, our bodies are constantly in battle with gravity.
It would be very hard to tell when to sleep, since people on Earth would probably have to tell us. Either that, or we could go to sleep whenever we felt like it, but I think that would mean, for some of us, staying up till' 11 at night (on Earth).
Our water would actually stick to random surfaces. The thought of sticky water creeps me out.
We would have to be strapped into our sleeping quarters. I heard some astronauts find them so disturbing they end up sleeping in mid-air.
I prefer to stay on Earth...
Yes I would like to live on the moon because I have always wanted to be weightless and jump higher than usual. Another reason that I would like to live on the moon is because we would be the first to make a colony.
Yes, I would like to live on the moon because if I did live on the moon then I would be able to jump even higher than I do now ,and I can jump pretty high now. Plus, I could just float around whenever I want to. And I could discover more things that scientists have not discovered.
No not really because i think i will not get to do what i wont to. But it would ben cool because u get do things that you never did before in life.
