Dairy ambassador to be honored March 20 at banquet in Pierz

PIERZ - The Crow Wing County Dairy Princess Banquet will be conducted March 20 at the Pierz Ballroom. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. with a program, coronation and dance to follow. Tickets are available by calling 828-1998 or (320) 277-3897.

Dairy ambassador candidates include: Anna Young, 13, daughter of Randy and Delores Young, Pierz, is in the seventh grade at Pierz Healy High. She is an FFA member and enjoys working with animals. Anna's favorite dairy product is ice cream. Her sponsors are Sen. Paul Koering, R-Fort Ripley, and Farmers and Merchant State Bank.

Austin Moe, 15, son of Steven and Becky Moe of Fort Ripley, is a freshman at Brainerd High School South Campus. He is a member of the FFA, 4-H and Cattlemen's Association. His favorite dairy product is milk. Austin's sponsors are Crow Wing County Farm Bureau, Long Prairie Packing and Steinbronn Surge.

Brandon Moe, 15, son of Vincent and Debbie Moe of Fort Ripley, is a freshman at Brainerd High School South Campus. He is a member of the FFA and 4-H and his favorite dairy products are cheese and milk. Brandon's sponsors are Pierz Co-op, Pierz Fab and Al Olson Express.

Haley Hoskins, 13, daughter of John and Heather Hoskins of Brainerd, is in the seventh grade at Forestview Middle School. She is a 4-H member and enjoys showing cattle and rabbits at the fair. Haley's favorite dairy product is milk. She is sponsored by AMPI and Central Minnesota Ethanol Cooperative.

Jennifer Koering, 16, daughter of Gerald and Melissa Koering of Fort Ripley, is a junior at Brainerd High School. She is a member of FFA and 4-H and enjoys Hardwater Ice Racing. Jennifer's favorite dairy products are milk, cheese and yogurt. Her sponsors are Athman Dairy, Northland Drilling and Wally Thesing Tours.

Raychel Raddatz, 13, daughter of Lindsey and Melissa Raddatz of Brainerd, is in the seventh grade at Forestview Middle School. She is in band, choir, 4-H and FFA. Her favorite dairy product is milk. Raychel's sponsors are Crow Wing Power and Tri-County Livestock Auction Inc.

Shantel Koering, 16, daughter of Gerald and Melissa Koering of Fort Ripley, is a junior at Brainerd Senior High. She is in band, 4-H and FFA. Shantel's favorite dairy products are milk, cheese and yogurt. Her sponsors are Bremer Bank, Crow Wing County NFO and IBA Dairy Supplies.

Dairy Princess candidate Chelsey Hettver is 18 and a senior at Brainerd High School. Her parents are Tony and Cheryl Hettver of Brainerd. Chelsey is the president of the Brainerd FFA, vice president of the Crow Wing County 4-H Federation and is employed at Garrison Super Valu and her family's dairy farm. Her favorite dairy product is milk. Chelsey is sponsored by Culver's of Baxter, Garrison Super Valu and Richard Carlson, DDS.

The dairy princess and ambassadors promote the dairy industry by visiting classrooms and nursing homes, helping with farm tours, exhibiting at the county fair, participating in parades and educating their friends of the benefits of dairy products.
