Crawford’s no-hitter hands Hobo’s loss
Josh Crawford faced the minimum of 21 batters and was a hit batter away from perfect Thursday evening when he no-hit previously unbeaten Hobo’s in Culver Design Build’s 3-0 win. Crawford needed just 68 pitches to get through the seven innings, and struck out six along the way. He walked no one, but hit the second to last batter he would face on the foot to break-up the perfect game. The hurler was picked up the very next play by his defense with a 4-6-3 double play that ended the game and kept Crawford at the minimum number of batters he could face.
Culver, who got all of the runs it needed with a pair in the first, got a RBI double from Trevor Largent. Crawford also delivered a single in helping his cause.
Hobo’s falls to 8-1 with the loss.
Culver (14-1) plays again on Monday when it plays the Fort Ashby Lions at Frankfort High School.
