Could you eat 337 wings in 30 minutes? Competitive-eating champ Takeru Kobayashi (tah-kah-roo koh-bee-yah-shee) conquered Philadelphia's annual gustatory gorge-fest by eating 337 chicken wings in a half-hour before a crowd of nearly 20,000 at Wing Bowl XX.

The Japanese phenom demolished the record of 255 set last year by Jonathan "Super" Squibb.

The Friday morning extravaganza drew thousands to the Wells Fargo Center before sunrise to watch competitors stuff themselves with chicken wings.

Kobayashi claimed a $20,000 cash prize for his victory. It was the six-time Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest champ's first time competing at Wing Bowl, though he consumed a cheesesteak in 24 seconds as part of an eating exhibition last year.

Squibb had been trying to win his fourth consecutive Wing Bowl crown, but the Berlin, N.J., man finished a distant second with 271 wings.

omgd this is so cool i would love to do this and win i give huge props to the guy that won i just hope they werent spicy wings :).

I give him props for this because who can do that i no i cant. but that looks good. i would have to practice that forever to win and eat that much. that guy is good though . i think her will food competitons. i wish i can eat like that in 30 mins but good job.

That guy must eat a lot of food because he he won that contest and also all those other contests. Like being the six time Nathan hot dog eating champion.

I give him a high five for this because I wouldn't be able to eat 337 wings in 30 minutes. He must have been very hungry. I wonder after doing this did he get sick because he ate so much wings in a day. Also is he must love eating wings

I definitely could not eat 337 chicken wings in thirty minutes! That is insane. I wish I could eat that much since it could win me a large cash prize! I love eating so that sounds like an amazing thing to excel in. I wonder if he got sick afterwards. Hopefully he excercises a lot because eating all that food could make him obese. After trying so hard to beat the record I am glad he did! He seems like he really enjoys his "sport."

I think its crazy to try to eat all this food.In your trainning yourself for it,thats not good. You should be spending your time doing something else. Then when you get done your gonna be complaing about being to fat

I think that it 's crazy how people can train themselves to eat food that much in that much time. I almost feel sick thinking about it.

That is a ton of wings. How do those people eat that much without getting full? They must not want to eat to much after an event like this. It will be interesting to see if Kobayashi breaks this record next year, or if he will even come close.

I like that this article is about wings.I wonder if they are hot wings or BBQ wings.I do not like it because it has BBQ wings when it should be hot wings.

That's a lot of chicken wing I'm surprised she didn't choke. After she must of had a big heart burn or had to take some acid pills.
