Character Counts program was a success

First year Rushville Consolidated High School principal Matt Vance recently concluded the 2008-2009 school year surrounded by students and teachers who were selected as “Character Counts” recipients. Each month during the school year a designated trait was selected by Vance and both students and educators at the secondary school were nominated for their ability to meet the trait. Those selected were treated to lunch outside the school and received a T-shirt to signify their efforts.

According to Vance, the program and the concept was a success and he hopes to carry on the tradition again during the 2009-2010 school year.

“I did this at the previous school I was at prior to returning to Rushville. I think it is a good program and I am looking for sponsors again this year,” Vance said.

For those businesses or individuals interested in being a sponsor for the Character Counts program, Vance can be contacted at RCHS by calling (765) 932-3901.

I am so glad that there are wonderful programs like that around here, I wish I knew how to get that to happen in my school. I just wish we could get the capital to afford the nice shirts.
