Can you sing better than The President?

Can you sing better than The President? President Barack Obama took a brief and unexpected turn as a soul singer at a New York fundraiser, crooning a bar from an Al Green classic and then joking that he hadn't been ushered offstage.

It happened at Manhattan's Apollo Theater late Thursday, when Obama stepped to the podium and veered from prepared remarks to thank Green for warming up the crowd.

Apparently not content with simply praising him, Obama suddenly launched into Green's "Let's Stay Together," starting with the vibrato "I'' and pausing for enthusiastic applause before finishing up with the line "so in love with you."

Obama said his staff didn't believe he'd really do it.

Then he joked that the Sandman hadn't come out — a reference to Sandman Sims, the tap dancer who chased unpopular acts offstage at the Apollo for decades.

I think the President can sing better than me because I can't sing at all. Even if I got paid to sing, I still would not be able to sing very well.

Wow ! Who would've thought that our United States president could sing. Thats really cool considering he's like the first president to do something like that ever. He must have did a good job because the article is titled, " Can you sing better than The President". He might could become a professional sing or something like that after he is done with the Presidential stuff. I think I would enjoy it.

I don't get why people are worried about things like how good Obama sings. Just give the man a break. When he sneezes, coughs or laughs people start publicizing.

I think that is hilarious!! Why is that president so hilarious? He is so entertaining!! But why was Obama there at Manhattan's Apollo Theater late Thursday night? I bet he is one of Al Green's biggest fans!! But, why would he talk about Al Green in front of his staff? Probably some of the staff were like ,"Is he nuts?" or ,"Humph!, weird."but they laughed anyway. Obama really showed his appreciation to Al Green!! but I don't think he should have said that out loud to the audience. I'm glad it wasn't embarrassing to Obama!!

I think its good that our president can sing. I think we need more presidents that have personality.How many presidents do you know that can sing. We obviously oboma but who else. I hope that the next president can sing.

Now that was a great start for Obama being the next American Idol! He has a great voice for the Al Green song. When I saw this video just now, I thought the video was silly and cool. Obama has a start for a singing career. If I was their at the conference and if I saw Obama sing, than I will cheer like the audience did.
