Broken pinkie could sideline Lindsey Vonn

Broken pinkie could sideline Lindsey Vonn Lindsey Vonn began these Olympics with a shin so badly bruised she didn't know if she could compete.

Two weeks, two medals and two crashes later, her Vancouver Games might be finished a race early because of a broken right pinkie.

"I'm just a little bit beat up right now," Vonn said after spinning out of control and slamming into the netting in the first run of Wednesday's giant slalom. "Things don't seem to be quite going my way."

Well, that's not entirely the case. She did benefit from weather delays early in the games, allowing her shin more time to heal. And she did win gold in the downhill and bronze in the super-G.

But Vonn also skied out in the super-combined and then injured her finger when she fell in driving snow and heavy fog during the giant slalom. The second leg was called off and rescheduled for Thursday when the fog became too thick to see the course.

When she sliced her thumb open on a champagne bottle last February, she raced the rest of the season with her pole taped to her glove.

Vonn's chance for another medal, meanwhile, may have to wait for another Olympics.

If she can compete with a bruised knee she can probably do anything in the whole world. I say she should compete. I belive in you Lindsey.

I dont think she should quit because o fa broken pinky i wouldent. But if she dose its her choice and lose a olymics. Even though she has won some before. And she got lucky that they got canceled a cuple times.

Lidnsey Vonn is so awesome, she should definetly keep skiing for he season. It is her desicion, though, so if she thinks she can't ski as well with it, she shouldn't race. But even though she is hurt, I think she should keep racing. Good luck, Lidnesy Vonn!

She is crazy. I don't think a broken pinkie will stop her from doing anything. She is super tough and has gone through stuff like this before.

A Broken Pinkie Doesn't Matter For A Snowboarder Because You Don't Worry About Ur Hands When You Snowboard. Some People Go To Far With Policies!

Lindsey Vonn is a great skier who performed at the Vancouver Olympics. I feel so sorry that she had a fall on the slalom and broke her right pinkie on her finger. She needs to be able to hold her ski poles tightly. I hope that she will be in the next winter Olympics. She is very brave to ski so fast down the steep mountain slopes. I think she can win more medals in the future Olympics.

I know that her pinkie will get better. She has the power to keep her determination. She is a great athlete. If she can't win, she'll at least be proud she tried. You can do it Lindsey!

broken pinkie can sideline by breaking your pinkie and if you break your pinkie it hurts just like if you broke another finger and if she goes on then it might ruin her career in the Olympics.

I Think if Lindsey has the power to do this, she is a very strong athlete. If she tells her trainer or who ever does that. I think Lindsey Vonn is a very strong person. The pinkie will get better. It's not like she is going to go out there and ride a dirt bike and fall and brake it. She is doing something alot more talented.

Broken pinkie weird. Can you move your pinkie? I don't ski with poles so I wouldn't stop doing the race early. I really like skiing!
