Back to School Jam at Metropolitan Park

Back to School Jam at Metropolitan Park

Backpacks and school supplies will be distributed to nearly 1,000 students at this community event. Free immunizations and physicals are available at the health fair. There will also be a Battle of the Bands on the mainstage, games, food vendors and more. This event is part of the Youth Explosion celebration of the First Baptist Church of Oakland, but it is not religious in nature and is open to all. Bring your law chairs and blankets and join us.

That sounds fun to go to with the games and food . Also i can get free shcool supplies in instead of going out shopping for them.

This Back to School Jam sounds like a really great event to have. They are even giving school supplies, health services, and fun! Our community needs to have a Back to School Jam in the future.

Honestly, this doesn't sound like much fun. I went to one of these a couple years ago and the games were lame, none of my friends went, and the school supplies were really cheap.

its good to see people do things like this even though the economy is barfy. Its just like a party.still that probably helped needy families get supplies school costs alot.

This was probably a fun and cheerful event. It seems like an event that bought people together. I wonder how many people attended an event that has so many kinds of things going on.

This is a nice thing to do. Lots of kids around the country will now be able to go to school. The First Baptist Church should feel very proud about what they did.

I think that's great for those kids to get free school supplies. Especially during today's economy. I would have loved to be one of those kids.

I think it is awesome when people give back to the community. Distributing school supplies and hosting a health fair is only a few ways to help our area. We can ALL make a difference somehow.

That is really coo that they are giving out school supplies. I wish I did that so I didn't have to pay for school supplies because it can be very pricey these days. Next year if they do this again I will be there.

You know, I love it when people do things like this . . . when they help the economy. It helps everyone to get in the spirit. I think that doing this creates a great influence on the young people in this society. See, doing things like this is what upgrades the economy that we live in. I would also definitely loved to have come.
